O.K. I confess, organization is not my strong suit. I have about 10 million strips of paper thrown in my purse with phone numbers and addresses on top of a stack of business cards. I can never seem to locate the one I need at that critical moment…and that’s just my purse. Needless to say, this is not the most effective strategy for organization.
So, when Palm Inc. asked our urbanmoms.ca Testing Panel to try out their new Palm Z22 organizer I was intrigued. Palm developed this product, which retails for only $149, with the busy mom in mind. The Z22 is a compact colour handheld organizer that holds thousands of contacts, years of appointments, birthdays, and photos, and its special memory capability keeps the information safe, even if you forget to charge it!
Palm got to know the needs of today’s busy mom when developing the Z22. They conducted a survey which showed that 79% of us moms say being disorganized adds more stress to our lives. I’ll agree with that! But, isn’t the organizer time consuming and complicated to set up? Let’s hear what our urbanmoms.ca Testing Panel had to say:
“Not only was it simple to set up but it looks cool too! I know that sounds silly but it is very compact and I liked the fact that it wasn’t just plain black. It’s like an accessory. I found I used it all the time. I got rid of my address book and to-do lists and put everything in one place.” – stay-at-home mom of 2, very involved in volunteer work
“I am not a gadget person. I tend to stick to my notepad and pen so I was a bit hesitant about whether I would use the Palm organizer. I was surprised at how easy it was to set up and simple to use. I have now gotten rid of my paper organizer and carry my Z22 instead. I needed to quickly access the address for an appointment the other day and was glad I didn’t have to rummage around in my notebook. The Palm made it much simpler.” – part-time consultant and busy mom of 2
Our panel also agreed that they liked the reminder feature they could set to remind them of important appointments or things to remember. They also liked being able to carry digital photos in their organizer and found it simple and easy to do.
So, if you are looking for a straight-forward solution to your organizational challenges our urbanmoms.ca Testing Panel definitely recommends the Palm Z22 organizer. You can purchase the Z22 at any Future Shop or, if you like shopping online, try the Palm Canada Store.

I received a Palm Z22 for Christmas (partly as a result of reading the review information on this website) and I love it. As an eighteen year user of Filofax I was quite apprehensive at first and stared at the box for an hour or so before diving in but now am “palming” away. If you are an organized “Paper” person then you will love this lightweight, cool, organizer. It features lots of cool information areas and is very well thought out from the point of view of a user. My only con is that it won’t link w/ Outlook Express (only Outlook) for downloading any contact information from your computer. This wasn’t a big deal for me since I had all my contact information in my address book (on paper) but for some people who store their contact info. on their computer then you may have to re-enter some if you are an Outlook Express user.
If you are entertaining switching to a Palm then this model seems to be loaded with everything that a mom will need, I haven’t found anything so far that I’m missing in my daily use…which is a lot of use, to say the least!!!

Hi Mary and any other members. You have to enter contests by updating your profile through any urbanmoms.ca EMAIL. I know this is a pain and I am working on getting it changed but you can’t do this at the site, only at the link at the bottom of an urbanmoms.ca member email.
Good luck!
