Is it just me or do some ads make you cringe too? I was watching TV the other day (not one of my beloved PVRd shows that I can skip over the ads, unfortunately) and I was stunned into silence by an ad for Wendy’s. If you’ve seen it you’ll know the one. It begins with a group of "cannibals" carrying their plump and whiny prospective meal on a spit . Suddenly he protests "But I’m not tasty! I won’t fill you up!"…WTF?! Then one of the "cannibals" in that ridiculous red Wendy’s wig decides he is right and that they should head to Wendy’s for a burger. Wha?!
Not only was Wendy’s the last place in the world I would go after this stupid ad but the comparison between eating human flesh and a juicy Wendy’s burger made me gag. And, on top of that, this ad is downright offensive. Do they really think this is going to connect with people and send them running in droves to Wendy’s? Ugh.
Then, there’s this one. All I have to say is as if. NOBODY talks like that. NOBODY puts up with a friend like that. Jeesh. Another reason to get a PVR NOW. But watch the totally hilarious spoof below it…
Another offender is IKEA. I can NOT stand this ad. Are we that stupid? Ugh…watch if you must.
So, do you agree with me? Or do you have your own offenders to call out? Share your most annoying ads below in the comments.

Designer Handbag Imitations says
I used the case to the click of a mouse available. Log in to your favorite search engine, type in the words of designer Designer Handbag Imitations at discount and inspire a long list of online resources for designer fashion at low prices prevail. Discount designer handbags are always a thing of the past. This, upscale handbags authentic design costs more and more per year. You may still be possible, a few hundred dollars for a bag of fake good pay, but authentic designer handbags are no longer a bargain.

I love the “start the car!!!” Ikea commercial – that is the funniest ad I’ve seen in a really long time.

The commercial for the wiskas wet catfood where the cat is clinging to its owner by the watercooler???? what is up with that???? Anyhow, I love the pregnancy test commercial with the deep man’s voice saying it is the most sophisticated piece of technology you will ever pee on. love it.

I think the reason the IKEA one bugs me so much is that normally I find their ads hilarious. Like the one Kath posted the link to that was never shown in North America…SO funny!
Also, it was on WAY too much and she totally grated on my nerves.
Was watching a PVRd show last night and, in fast-forward, I saw that frickin Wendy’s ad mocking me.

That IKEA one always makes me roll my eyes, but it’s because it reminds me of my mother in law. She looks bird-like and extremely, er, “thrify”, and my father in law is just like the milk-toast car driver in the commercial.

I loved the spoof, thanks for sharing. My peevish ad are the Special K ones with the already skinny gorgeous girl and the over the top stereotypical gay guy.

Okay. I LOVE the IKEA commercial. But the most brilliant IKEA ad campaign EVER! was the lonely lamp:

The worst? Those “Brand Power” ads. I mean, wtf is that all about?

I like the IKEA commercial, it makes me laugh. Agree with the others…can’t stand any of those new Wendy’s commercials!!!

That Ikea commercial actually makes me laugh, the way she “WHOOOO”‘s at the end of it. The ones that make me cringe are those for Spectro Jel – they are just really bad!

(Okay, they look like 20-somethings in that ad. I was referring to another ad with VERY young girls in it, which just strikes me as nasty.)
Beck says
My big issue with birth control pill ads – the actresses in them are getting younger and younger. Instead of being 20-somethings, they’re obviously aiming at a very young teenaged market. Ick.
And yes, that Ikea ad makes me hit the mute button SO fast!

My latest commercial beef is not with the ad itself, but the timing. Why, oh why, are my sons watching a commercial for Clear Blue Pregnancy Test when they’re tuned into YTV after school??!! Who is the demographic here? Even crazier…the very next ad was for some kind of Dora the Exlorer juice snack…huh?? I’m picturing some teen girl worrying about a possible pregnancy while popping Dora gummies.
