The May December Romance

So unless you’re living in a hole somewhere you’ve heard by now that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher split up.  Hey – honestly – they made a good run at it.  This is no Kim Kardashian marriage.  The thing that’s pissing me off is that everyone is focussing on how it was the older Demi Moore who was so insecure all the time because you know she’s so gorgeous with a hot body hideous and old.  Look, even if Ashton was married to a 25 year-old and all these infidelity rumours were swirling – that woman would still feel insecure.  The focus on her age is ridiculous.

I give Demi serious props for going for this relationship.  I once had a fling with a much younger boy man (what happens in Cuba stays in Cuba) but the constant ‘he was in nursery school when you were starting university’ jokes from my friends were hilarious at first and then just…well…true.

But the May/Decmeber thing sometimes works!

2. Calvin Klein is 47 years older than his boyfriend

3. Ellen Barkin is 31 years older than her boyfriend (who is the son of a friend)

4. Hugh Hefner, Kelsey Grammar and Billy Joel are just sort of in a class by themselves.  No?

By far the creepiest May/December romance recently is Doug Stoddart (51) and his 17 year-old wife, Courtney Stodden.  Yes.  I said wife.  Her mother okayed it.  Because in the words of the Coop – ‘they are sooo cool’ .
