I’d first like to thank everyone for weighing me down with all the pressure in the world for Eva to donate her hair. As much as I would have loved for her to do that – this time just wasn’t going to be the time.
We got to the salon and she was a little nervous.
When her hairdresser came to get us Eva started to cry. She was regretting the fact that she called my bluff, not realizing the consequences of that would result in an actual haircut.

She didn’t want her hair washed, but I insisted. Tell me one person who doesn’t think that the hair wash isn’t THE best part of a haircut. She was a little uneasy in the chair but soon realized that mommy was right.
It also helped that she had her buddy with her for moral support

She got into the chair. Cape went on. Scissors came out. Panic struck again. Tears came.
“Is it going to hurt? Am I going to feel the cutting?”
Bless her. After we explained that she would feel nothing, she asked if she could keep her long hair. Just a trim. So that’s what she got.

While I would have loved for her to donate her gorgeous long locks, I needed it to be her decision. Maybe when she can understand the program a bit better.
She didn’t get a lot off – maybe 3 inches, but it has really clean up her hair and has made it much more manageable.
much better!

momma let go of her longer hair and daughter too! I see a theme here. PS could she be any cuter???

Stupid cowlicks! I can’t wear bangs…
We’re still dealing with some social issues with the birthmark so I will allow her some attachment to her hair. She likes her long hair. Like Rapunzel…y’know?
😛

Never, Sara.
The hair that was cut was her baby hair. The hair she was born with 🙁
I’ve got it in an envelope.

Yes – you can see in the before pics that’s exactly what they were. Made it impossible to comb unless there was a pile of detangler in it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Marley with Eva’s whole haircut thing and what a big deal it ISN’T.

it’s all the wispy ends that get messy and i insist on getting those trimmed off. looks fantastic and it will brush through so much better now! my girls have been getting regular haircuts since they could sit (seriously) so it’s no big deal for them.

oh gee no pressure. I just said IF she decided to go short it would be a good idea to consider. 🙂 I do think we as women need to be not so attached to our hair. It’s a complex issue isn’t it? Long to hide. Short to liberate. Change is so hard. Especially with our hair. For me it’s bangs instead of Botox. “Bangtox” LOL

What a beautiful little lady 🙂
