The Layering Turtleneck: A Wardrobe Staple (On the Cheap!)

January 22, 2011 by Metalia

A must-have for me, in the winter, is a series of thin turtlenecks, perfect for layering. I love pairing them with pleated skirts, boots and tights, but they look great with anything from skinny cords to to work pants and vests. They work with EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, my favorite ones (J.Crew’s tissue turtlenecks) are a bit pricey, considering how many I end up buying.

I recently discovered a similar style at Forever21. Their Basic Turtleneck Tunic is thin, LONG (which I love!), and a steal at under $11. I have it in the black and grey shades. It’s cotton with a touch of spandex, which gives it a great fit. It does fit snugly — which is kind of the point — but it seems to run a bit small, so I would (and did, myself) go up a size. This is a wardrobe staple, and I highly recommend it. I cannot, however, endorse the hot pants this young lady has chosen to wear with hers.

Everyone understands that employing coupons can make it easier to save money on groceries, as well as though some of us do use coupons, one can get fairly couple of of us that in fact use them successfully enough to produce a huge difference.
