The King East Design District

September 26, 2012 by Sonya

King East Design District

Around the time that the leaves start turning from green to golden yellows and vibrant reds, I get the urge to freshen up my home and work space. I guess it’s the change from warm to cooler climates that inspires me to get into a nesting stage – no, not the same as when you’re pregnant, but I’m guessing it’s in preparation of the months to come where we tend to stay indoors, cozy up to a fireplace with cocoa and entertain indoors. I find this is a great time to revisit some great design areas in the city and it’s something I love to do on any free afternoon. I like to look for inspiration in the design shops and showrooms.

King East Design District

The King East Design District is hosting an event that invites the public to check out the best of local and international designs. Attendees can visit various showrooms that will be exhibiting special displays for this weekend long event. From furniture to accessories to architectural design, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from, and meet, the experts. Interior design consultants and designers themselves will be giving a design experience that will be more inspiring and accessible than ever before.
I’m pretty sure my hubby will be clenching his teeth a bit as I’m planning to visit the SubZero-Wolf Showroom.

The event will take place along King Street East, between Church and Sackville Streets in Old Town Toronto on September 29 & 30th. Attendees will have the opportunity to obtain a passport with a $10 donation to Habitat for Humanity. Get your passport stamped at various hot spots along the way and be entered to win some fabulously luxurious prizes from the sponsors and participants.
