This past weekend some friends and I were fortunate enough to spend a few days just north/west of Toronto outside of the lovely Collingwood, Ontario at the Blue Mountain Resort. We enjoyed meals at Rusty’s, Royal Majesty Espresso Bar & Bakery, The Pottery, Café Chartreuse, and 3 Guys and a Stove.
We relaxed and rejuvenated with fabulous massages at the Kalola Spa, and had some good, clean (competitive) fun playing mini golf at the new Cascade Putting Course and zooming down the new mountain coaster, Ridge Runner.
But the best part of the weekend for me was not only a little me time, sleeping in and a bed to myself but the camaraderie of time with my friends. I mean, when was the last time I cried at lunch over our wonderful children (don’t ask) and only minutes later am laughing SO hard that tears are welling up in my eyes?
What a gift! It is so important not only to have good friends but to take the time to nurture those relationships and enjoy each others’ company away from the hustle and bustle of everyday.
