Hey everyone! I couldn’t take it anymore!! I’m like a crack addict needing my next fix. No internet for a week. I just couldn’t stand it. So I’m in town overnight to water my dead plants, take in what mail hasn’t been scoured through and scrub the dirt off my feet from Hillside!!!
What I forgot to anticipate was the hotness of my house without the a/c on for a week. Combine that with the hot laptop currently on my burnt legs and you can rest assured this will be a short entry. AND I’ve misplaced my freaking camera cord so the 8000 vacation pictures will just have to stay on the camera that much longer. (which blows because some of the videos are classic).
So…what have we been up to?
Will has….
*driven a battery operated tractor…and been dragged around by said tractor
*visited the baby wolves at the zoo. And had his hands in the cage getting nipped, which was all cute and adorable until he tried it at the lion cage. Having a child with no hands would suck.
*eaten approximately 40 freezies and 20 ice-cream cones.
*been failing miserably at the potty training BUT has been putting 4 and 5 word sentences together.
Sara has…
*chased after Will being dragged around by the battery operated tractor.
*sprinted after Will with his hands in the lion cage.
*drank approximately 40 beers and 15 bottles of wine.
*failed miserably at toilet training my son AND cheered for him over and over again with his words.
Suffice it to say we’re having a great time and gearing up for week #2!!!
Full report to follow….as for now, I’m going to bed….sort of like Will did in the middle of the walk back to the campsite at Hillside today….he looks like I will in 1/2 an hour – dirty feet and all!!!!
Sounds like you and Will are having a great time. Wish I could have gone to Hillside, alas, we were away at a family reunion.
I think “Toilet Training is a misnomer”. There is no training, they figure it out when they’re good and ready. As Kath says, don’t sweat it, just wait and it will happen without sticker charts, pull ups, etc.

Classic picture, Sara! And don’t sweat the toilet training. Speaking from experience, it will happen when he’s ready, and when he is, it’ll happen fast. Have a great “rest of your vacation” (nice sentence structure!)
