The Great Presenters

August 30, 2010 by Unknown

1ruth.pngMy boys are not even two-years-old, and already I can picture them one day commanding the attention of a crowd with their sparkling personalities. Sure, they’re toddlers now – but soon (time goes by so fast!) they’ll be coming home with show and tell, public-speaking, and other presentation assignments from school.

But PowerPoint is not only for school and work. Why not create a slideshow of your summer vacation memories so your kids can captivate their class when they get back to school? It’s pretty simple to integrate and edit photos and videos, record audio, or add cool animation and transitions to make it fun.
Photo albums can sometimes end up just collecting dust on the shelf and your digital picture can sometimes sit on your hard drive without ever getting printed off or shared. But it doesn’t have to be that way. I can’t think of a better way to share your family’s adventures than an animated photo and video presentation. I downloaded this cute picnic template and pulled together a PowerPoint presentation of a recent family gathering in just a few minutes:

Your kids will love how creative they can be. Check out this video of one opinionated student, as she points out some of her favourite functions in PowerPoint 2010 which she used to put together a presentation about helping the planet.

The mom in the next video homeschools her four kids. She uses PowerPoint to help make information exciting and whether it’s math, science, history or English – she is able to create engaging presentations and keep her kids interested.

Check it out:

And of course, if your kids can do it – you can do it! Did you coach your son or daughter’s soccer team and want to show a slideshow of photos for the end of season party? Are you helping out at a school event? Do your parents have a big anniversary coming up that you want your family to commemorate in a special way? PowerPoint 2010 can help you get it done, quickly and creatively!

Here is one final video showing an overview of all the new PowerPoint functions available to make your presentations great:

That’s it for now! Until next week….
