When we moved into this house last summer one of the first things I wanted to do was paint the entire house. The kitchen is dark red (so over that), the foyer/hallway is what I suppose you could call a beige (too yellow for me) and the family room is a bit of a darker beige/taupe. I want to paint the entire main floor the same colour. With the way our house is lit with windows the shade of the colour would change from room to room.
I had our favourite painter come in an quote us. I thought I’d get a quote for the second floor as well – since he was going to be here anyway.
We got the quote and realized that we didn’t have the two thousand dollars to put out for paint at that time.
Which is good…because the art gallery that has become my main floor would otherwise not exist.
My neighbour popped over quickly the other day and I was SO embarrassed because the house was. a . complete. mess.
I apologized for the state of the house she said “Please. I don’t see a mess. I see a young family.”

I have decided to embrace that. I do my best to tidy. Try to keep thing clean.
But yes. I have a young family. There will be toys strewn around the house. Juice stains on the carpet. Crumbs on the floor. Laundry on the stairs. Dishes in the sink. Who the hell knows what under the couch cushions.
And an art gallery showcased on my walls.

For now, the paint I don’t quite like stays. And the art I absolutely love covers it.

Love your gallery!!!
We have a similar one. Including actually writing on the walls! And I was OK with that!
You’re a great mom.
