My birthday is coming up and I’m not excited. For the first time in my life, I’m feeling older and a little worn out. I never appreciated the gifts of youth until now. Glossy hair, dewy skin, and most important – time.
Time for myself, and for personal grooming. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of myself and it’s become increasingly challenging as I’ve had kids. Lately, manicures, pedicures, facials and blow-outs are things of the past. When I get some free time, I go to the gym, and colour my graying hair! Priorities.
This past week, I was going for a walk with the Baby, when I walked by Sitamaa, a beautiful new spa in the Manulife Centre (Toronto). I started chatting with the owner, Vee Mistry, who made me the most delightful proposition: She said that if i wanted to get a pedicure, she would keep the Baby occupied!
So I took her up on it, and for the first time in over a year, I have pretty feet. Sitamaa is gorgeous – Eastern-inspired decor with fantastic products from all over the world. My express pedicure cost me $35 and it was great. Here’s a pic of Baby and I:

AWESOME! Wonder if they’d do the same with the boy…as if! My sisters and I went for pedi’s together when he was about 6 weeks…we just passed him back and forth down the line – it was awesome. Now I have to do things like that when he’s in daycare!
