Nearly 7 years ago I took the biggest risk of my life. I quit my fabulous packaged goods marketing job and started UrbanMoms. I never, ever considered being an entrepreneur. In fact, it scared the hell out of me. But I just couldn’t resist the opportunity I saw before me as this wonderful community began to grow. Lucky for me (and my family) I haven’t looked back since.
It has been a tough road in many ways and not nearly as romantic as some people believe it to be. The stress is magnificent and the responsibility as the business grows can be huge. The isolation, especially in the beginning when it was just me, myself & I, can be overwhelming. But the flexibility, the amazing and inspiring people I have met both on and offline plus the opportunity to learn have all made up for the tough stuff in spades.
So, would I do it again? Well, the answer better be “Yes” because I already am! Introducing my latest venture, SheBlogs Media. SheBlogs is an opportunity for me to use everything I have learned over my entire career and I am so excited about it. SheBlogs is the first all Canadian women’s social media network representing Canada’s top women’s blogs and online communities for ad sales, integrated marketing programs and developing some of the most creative social media marketing and advertising opportunities this country has ever seen!
