Recently my daughter came home from a birthday party clutching a sheet of stickers and exclaiming that it was the coolest loot bag ever. How cool could it be, I wondered, contemplating past loot bags full of Dollar Store bargains and stale candy?
What was so cool about these stickers was that they were personalized with her name. And her name’s not going to show up on a sheet of stickers that you pick up at the party supply store down the street, so I knew the parents had made a real effort to personalize each child’s party favour.
I went online and found the company, and StickerYou allows you to make the most incredible, custom, vinyl, die-cut stickers you can imagine. For the personalized name stickers that my daughter brought home, the images are fresh and funky, and you can choose styles for boys or girls. The company also has licenses with many of the kids’ favourite current and retro brands. The website has a whole page of suggestions for how you can use the stickers (on hockey and bike helmets, water bottles, suitcases, walls…yes they are removable!!) and my daughter’s been trying them all out!

Another of my favourite Canadian companies, Mabel’s Labels, has also jumped on the loot bag bandwagon, and is offering an amazing loot bag combo of labels and bag tags pesonalized for each little partier. I think any kid would be thrilled to receive these, and parents will appreciate being introduced to such a fantastic product.
But why should kids have all the fun? Wouldn’t mom like to see her pretty things personalized, too? The next time you’re looking for a gift idea for a girlfriend, why not check out MuffyMade, yet another fantastic Canadian company. The company works with you to develop custom and personal notes including cartoon versions of your family.
Here’s our family, immortalized on a gift card.
My only problem I have is that I love them so much I refuse to use them!
So don’t be afraid to get personal! It does take a little more planning, but who doesn’t want to celebrate the end of tacky loot bags??
