I had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the Sausage. I love Thanksgiving. We always have lots of people from my Mom’s side of the family. There are also always friends. This year we were missing some key people, my step-daughters, my cousin Scott and a many others, so there were fewer of us. We fit around one table for the first time in my memory. It was really fun though. We even started a new tradition, the Disco Dance party in the Cocktail Sausage, with disco ball and all!
But now, I’m a little bit sad. Why? I think because we were closing down the cottage for the season and I’ll miss seeing everyone. And because winter is coming and it’s isolated here in the winter. Tomorrow my job changes, I’m moving out of my grade 4 classroom (first time I’ve taught the same grade two years in a row) and into a 7/8 classroom so I’m a little anxious about that.
Do you get a little melancholy after Thanksgiving or in the autumn?
But, I am thankful…for all of this. I had posted a a montage of Thanksgivings past and present at the Sausage but, YouTube stripped the audio so here are a few photos instead.
