I spent the first Sunday afternoon in November at home cocooned on the couch with my scraggly mutt at my feet and my sweet wild child cuddled into the crook of my arm. Ahhh, home sweet home, after spending four nights away from my family, driving across Eastern Ontario, clocking close to 900kms, those couple of hours snuggled up with my babes was total bliss. Once they were asleep I flicked on the tv to see if there was a matinee to add to the indulgence.
Anyone remember this chick flick 90’s movie with Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves? She’s dying and decides to take in a new man every month to teach him how to really live life by spending 24/7 with her in her BoHo, free lovin life. Keanu Reeves is the lucky man for November.
First of all, her hair is really cute, so much in fact I kept getting distracted by it and away from the plot. I am taking it my hairdresser for my next cut, except I need bangs because I have the forehead of a 90 year old.
Secondly, I forgot how cute Keanu Reeves is, I haven’t seen him much since the Matrix and while the man can really wear a long black leather jacket he is pretty cute in his Bay street suit turned into hoodie and jeans appeal. Especially, sexy in this PDA scene.
Thirdly, while the movie is over the top on the cheese factor even for a once hopeless romantic such as myself. The characters battle with terminal illness is a reminder to slow down and savour the daily moments. The little joys like the two snuggled on the couch with me. The gratitute for my sister who replied to my text request for some chocolate to go with my cheezy movie. Right here, right now, is my own little version of Sweet November.

I’ve always had an insane crush on the man-child (or certainly, when he WAS a man-child) and I’m embarrassed to say I’ve watched that movie… too many times. It’s a terrible film. And yet, whenever it’s on, I just… can’t… help myself. It’s like bad comfort food, or something.
And yes, her hair is tres adorable in that movie – you could totally rock that cut, lady! GO GET IT!!
