Really, can we just get through a Super Bowl half-time show without any issues?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock – actually not sure that would stop it – you’ve heard that Madonna played the half-time show at the game. And you know what? I’m not a Madonna fan at all – but I thought she did a great job (except for the weird push up thing with LMFAO). She sang her new single with Niki Minaj and MIA. And *gasp*, brace yourself, MIA gave the screen the finger? No! How horrible! Hello!! Who CARES! Are you telling me that was more offensive than all the crotch shots? Worse than Cee-Lo’s sparkly kimono? Lighten up Americans – lighten the hell up. (she’s paying some massive fine apparently).
The other ‘controversy’? After the game, Gisele Bundchen, wife of hottest Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was filmed blaming the loss on the receivers. You can see the video here. Whoa. Again, like with Madonna, I’m not a Gisele fan. Her past comments on breastfeeding and motherhood annoy the crap out of me. BUT – I’m going to support her on this one. It’s her husband and dome doofus is yelling at her and she stood up for her man. Was it the right thing to say? No probably not. Okay for sure not. But the beating she is taking in the press for this is a little bit insane. What do you think? Stand by your man or keep your comments to yourself?
i guess people are shocked that a woman can have an opinion. she’s getting trashed but the anonymous boor screaming at her is okay? dude, yell at tom if he’s the guy you have issues with. glad she defended her husband just as he should defend her as the need arises.
and i’m also a little upset the madonna bashing. personally i was a little uncomfortable watching a 53 year old woman gyrating on stage…but…look at the legs on the 53 year old woman! go for it! no one says anything about mick jagger trying to look sexy at his age…it’s more of a “good for you ol’ chap” but madonna gets crucified. double standard?
