Today I got my haircut and for the first time, like, ever I let her style it straight. I have always had this thing about straight hair because I lived through the Annie Perm 80’s with two straight haired sisters so I was extremely thankful for my Big Hair and curls. However, today I decided to give it a try because Saturday is my good friend Jennifer’s (yes, of Trend Watch fame) 40th Birthday night out on the town and I wanna look my best. Or at least as best as it gets at this stage in my life.
So, aside from the fact that I look creepily like my sisters I am just not sure. Is it glam or goofy? Do I rock the curls or is straight and sophisticated the way to go? We are going to a swanky dinner and then dancing (YES, DANCING!) so I gotta know. Help!
Here’s the regular me:
hi well i like u in the curly look not so much in the straight look cause your hair is too short.. sorry it doesn’t suit your face.. that is my opinion…
It looks nice straight, but I like it better curly.
Damn you are lucky both look foxy!
I looked like a big Gina with my 90’s perms. Straight on me now is starting to feel very passe and my inbetween fuzzy curl (ugh) looks too Charlie’s Angels.
go out for the big night with it straight because you can always say you were not there, it was your twin sister, “you know the one with the straight hair”
Like both looks on you….from one curly girl to another, it’s nice to have a change!
(FYI my son also loves my hair straight)
I can’t decide–let’s see a picture of the new ‘do’ with you wearing your glasses…
You must wear it straight. You have gone out for years with curly, now it’s time to take it to a different place. I think you will surprise yourself with how different you feel. It’s only hair but then again, it is what defines us sometimes.
I think you look cool!
Angela I.
I say curly! 🙂
Okay Jen – I’m starting to get freaked out at our similarities…I have two straight haired sisters as well. I spent my entire high school/university life DYING for straight hair. Now I’ve fully embraced my crusty the clown lid and I never let them straighten it anymore. I think yours looks awesome both ways – but think the curly is ‘you’ – that being said – it’s fun to be someone else for a bit…Hava BLAST Saturday night…where are you going dancing? Because of course for once, I’m doing that too!
I like your curls! I wish I had curls. Isn’t that always the way… sigh.
Ooooh, I like!
While I like the straight look, I think curly is far better on you. It’s funky. It’s free. It says “Straight hair is for sissies. Curls funk it up, sistah.” For the record, I have hair that can’t make up its mind and is usually straightened. Boring… 🙂
So far pretty much only my dad and my son like the straight. I feel like some weird sister-clone. I’m going to keep it through tomorrow and see but I am pretty sure I’m going curly for Saturday night.
Is that Kath? No it’s Alla! No it’s Kath! Weird! I like the curly.
I have to say that I prefer curly. I must admit that I’m surprised. I almost always prefer straight as it usually looks more polished. But for you Jen the straight look doesn’t do you justice. Curly you is more fun, interesting and unique. So stick to the curls!
