Are you in the throes of spring cleaning at your house?
I wish I were, but all of the late-season snowfall we had this year made my motivation for cleaning wane. That being said, I have tackled a few extra little jobs that had been gnawing away at me: I did a nice, thorough purge of my girls’ bedroom and also the mudroom, taking time to box up things they had outgrown and stop in wonder at how much junk finds its way into our home. I still have lots left to do: window washing, deep-clean of the kitchen and pantry, closet reorganization, etc. I have a decent little jump on it but there’s an ace in my back pocket. For Christmas I received a gift from my mom in the form of a cheque addressed to my favourite house cleaner. I have been saving up all the filth and grime from the winter and will be making use of that gift in a couple weeks’ time. Until then, I will keep busy organizing and purging, knowing that once I get that done someone else will come in with her magic wand and make it all sparkle and shine.
Do you have a big spring cleaning schedule? Do you call a house cleaner to help you pull it off?

I do Spring Clean at our place. I make lists for each room and cross things off as I go, and I aim to get it all done between the first day of Spring and the first day of Summer. What I can’t figure out is how to get it all clean at once, lol. My five little ‘helpers’ don’t seem to find that a valuable undertaking. 😉

I would LOVE to hire a house cleaner. Your mom sure knows how to give gifts!! I haven’t done a whole lot yet.

I wish I could! I find I’m doing it in spurts, since the weather has been fickle… but just purging the closets of the stuff that doesn’t fit anymore and passing the still-good stuff along feels so good. I try not to look in the corners of the house… or at the windows when the sun is shining. Le sigh. Eventually I’ll get it done. (Or most of it.)
I’m happy you’ve made a push with your to-do list though! Make a lady feel all accomplished, or something, no?
