Well, I know what Cinderella felt like after the ball, now. I’m back home here in Calgary, finally (somewhat) caught up on my sleep and with bags unpacked. Whew…that only took me four days!

But I guess in a way, it really took me about 10 months…see, it was the last weekend in May of 2006 when I joined Weight Watchers with my hubby, and although I haven’t quite managed to shed that stubborn last 15 10 8 pounds, I have come a long way.
Last year, if Jen had asked me to attend a glamorous evening party and take part in a fashion show, I would have been mortified. Well, let’s be realistic…at 220 lbs, I wouldn’t have been asked to participate in the fashion show! But I still would have attended the event with that big ole fat monkey on my back. I would have spent the night thinking how great other women looked. How envious I was of them. Despite being smart, funny and successful (if I do say so…) I would have felt inferior. I know I would have, because I’ve been there so many times before.
But Mom’s Night Out was different. Was it just the new me that made the experience so different for me? I can never be 100% sure, of course, but it sure didn’t hurt.
