My kids tend to get chapped red cheeks and lips around this time of year. I blame the same Irish genes that make me crave potatoes and love beer. Over the past ten years I’ve been to dermatologists, tried expensive creams, cheap fixes, homemade solutions, humidifiers and everything else. Unfortunately, my then two-year old son said it best when I implored him not to lick his lips. He replied, “but I dike to dick my dips” (he has overcome the speech impediment, but still licks his lips around this time of year).
This season my kids are trying a new product that seems to be keeping the dry red skin at bay. Green Beaver‘s Apres-Ski Cheek Balm is from the Canadian company’s line for extra dry skin. I believe it takes a Canadian company to understand the complexities of Canadian winter (sub-zero temperatures, nasty windchill and dry indoor heating).
Green Beaver products are wonderful because they’re 100% natural, biodegradable, vegan and gluten-free. You can feel confident using this cheek balm on every member of your family; including babies!
This cheek balm has worked well over the last couple of weeks applied wherever I see dryness (especially around cheeks and mouths). Thanks to its natural ingredients, I don’t evenworry if the kids lick their lips (however, I would caution users to keep an eye on their kids’ craft supplies if you buy this product. The packaging looks amazingly like a glue stick and kids might start rubbing glue on their faces….I can’t imagine that would be help a dry skin situation).
Green Beaver products are available across the country. Check out their website to find a store near you.
