I’m back! Vacation details to follow! The short of it – I’m tanned, slightly rested and know more about Keith Richards than I ever thought I would. Oh and breathe easy Dad, your fear of me coming back with a Cuban cabana boy sadly did not materialize.
But today is Valentine’s Day and how can that go uncelebrated?? (place a bucket under this entry right now to catch the dripping sarcasm). How happy was I to hear that Will’s school opted to celebrate it last Friday? Sweet – thank you to my sister for handling that. (and like you all said, they sent home a list of who to send cards to….very PC). It was sort of cute to hear him talk about it….obviously Barney, Lightning McQueen and Dora were the big winners.
Lest you think my loathing of the day is strictly because I’m a few years shy of becoming a spinster, I don’t really like it when I’m in a relationship either. Here’s the deal. If you love me, tell me on October 2nd; surprise me with flowers on August 11th or take me to dinner on January 5th. Get my drift? Don’t let card companies dictate when that should be!
But if you insist on celebrating today….let Auntie Sara give you a solid piece of advice that I learned from a few years ago. If you plan on cooking your sweetheart a romantic Thai dinner, followed by a sweet massage and a little somethin-somethin….wear gloves when you’re chopping up the hot chilis for the Tom Yum Guy….if not, you’re seriously jeopardizing part three of this equation.
Enjoy lovebirds…..(this card totally fitting after my fish gorge in Cuba)

Holy crap!!! As I was reading this I was thinking to myself “If memory serves, wasn’t it Valentine’s Day when she got the Thai treatment?” And bam! It was!!! Ha ha ha!!
Valentine’s Day is for expressing love. And so I say to you, dear pal, I love you. Glad you made it back.
