Our family is on snack duty for the little dude’s soccer team this week. I find this can be stressful. The first family on snack duty basically sets the “tone” for what’s expected for the season. The first year it was all about real “treats”. Then I’ve noticed that each year the treats just keep getting healthier and healthier.
I was already stressing about our designated snack day. The allergies (no wheat, no dairy, no gluten and nut free) puts a limit on what you can serve. The kids want something yummy and fun while the parents want healthy. So, what do I bring?
Well, I SWEAR I have a Fairy Snackmother or something because just the other day I received a delivery of the new Mott’s Fruitsation’s products to sample. Yes, queue in the trumpets!
So, my kids inhaled the NEW Fruit Rockets faster than you can peel a banana and gave them two thumbs up! The little guy requested them for snack distribution at the game (sushi was the other request…but I don’t think that would be as popular).
Dairy Free. Check.
Gluten Free. Check.
Healthy. Check.
Fun. Check.
Yummy. Check. Check.
Nuts…just checked and it appears ok.
But, I know parents with kids and food allergies always double check the labels to be sure.
Thank you Fairy Snackmother!
Mott’s Fruitsations just launched two other new products! Mott’s Fruitsations +Veggies in Cherry Berry Carrot and Peach Apple Carrot. Sneaky, yes…but yummy!
I tried them too…shhh!
The weather has been soooo hot these days I think I’ll try making popsicles with them too!

This post is written by me and the opinions are my own and based on my own experience. It is not sponsored. I was given a free sample of Mott’s Fruitsations, but was not compensated for any review. But I know the snacks will be a hit at the soccer field!

Ugh. I hate the after-sports snack duty. Almost as much as I hate birthday party loot bags. I’m totally a Scrooge on those ones. Bah, humbug.

No, not sponsored! I know, I know, it may sound weird but the stress is actually because there are so many allergies and dietary food restrictions now with so many kids. I could just not care and bring “whatever” but I try my darndest to meet everyone’s needs. That’s what I’m stressed about. Fresh fruit is always great for sure! Can’t beat a slice of watermelon!
Kim says
oh just read it was not sponsored. Heavy sigh!
Kim says
I’m sorry but you were stressed? That is ridiculous that our society has come to this. people needing to one up each other and out do each other and over do absolutely everything when it comes to our kids these days. TREATS? Sports are not about treats. Kids should not be rewarded just for showing up! and parents should really get a grip!
We no longer have snacks at soccer games b/c apparently people were getting out of control (you may bring an individual snack for your own child)
Perhaps this is a sponsored post but honestly REAL fruit is the simplest of choices. Oranges, apples, watermelon or grapes on a hot summer night for sports.

I’m on snack duty tonight. I made my own rice krispies squares (no packaging) but no bonus marks for healthy! Wish I had read this before!

Oh, you’re soooo ogood, Sonya… the kids on our teams only seem to want popsicles. Cheese sticks end up as melting ooze inside their plastic skins, and homemade muffins or cookies become a sad sack of crumbs. I hear you on the anxiety though – that’s why I’m always so thrilled when the first snack-provider shows up with icy treats with sticks in them. 😉
