Sarah Palin is…Julianne Moore?

March 13, 2011 by Unknown

So, when I first heard that Julianne Moore was going to be playing Sarah Palin in HBO’s “Game Change,” based on the book about the 2008 Presidential election, I thought, Julianne Moore?

Really? NOT TINA FEY?

But, once I really and truly thought about it, the only chance of the Palin character not coming out looking like a ridiculous character, is to NOT have Tina Fey do her both hilarious and infamous “I can see Russia from my house!” caricature. No matter what I, or Julianne Moore or Tina Fey or any of us feel about Sarah Palin…she deserves a chance to be portrayed seriously. Or at least..um, mildly seriously.
Even Tina agrees and gives Access Hollywood her stamp of approval. She says: “I’m imagining it will be a very different tone. [Julianne]’s a great choice. She’s a great actress. If she needs my wig, I have it. It’s at ‘SNL.'”

@Alice, I’m guessing Sarah will actually do well during the next elections, so we have to give her some credit there. But only time will tell. 🙂

I would still have a hard time taking her seriously because she is, herself, such a character, but your point is well taken – at least it gives her a shot. ba-dum-bump.
