A few months ago I had to write a ‘So Long Meredith‘ blog when my girl Meredith Viera left the Today Show and today…it’s Regis Philbin.

I have a secret dream (well not so secret now) to be a morning show host. You know – the next Dina or Meredith or Ann Curry. But the seat that I coveted – the one that I thought I should own…was Kelly Ripa’s. How awesome must it be to sit across from Reeg and trade barbs for an hour every morning?? I’d love it!
Reeg was a constant for my roommate Cath and I at university. We spent every morning with him. We dreamed of going to NYC to meet him after graduation. (But then we heard he was an arse to the audience so we opted not to … you know to keep the dream alive…).
I spent a year of mat leave with Reeg too. Screaming baby? Crying mother? Didn’t matter – I had my Reeg. Well today, he’s retiring to hang out with his hot wife Joy, golf with the Donald and continue to eat at every fabulous New York restaurant.
I hope this is my last goodbye entry….well, truth be told – I can’t WAIT to write the ‘So Long Elisabeth’ blog…for when they boot her off The View and hire me.

I love him, and I think he is hilarious…I also think he is old and it was time for him to move on and give someone else a chance to ring some bells, so long Reeg….Enjoy your life!!!!
I was never a huge fan, but not because there’s anything wrong with the Reege… just didn’t watch that morning show. He’s got some serious energy for a man of eighty years – it’s time for him to relax, I reckon. That’s an impressive body of work though! He sure knows how to work a crowd… *sniff*
