My first fuzzy creature was a Care Bear, namely Sunshine Bear, and believe it or not I still have it. I smile when I see it and it still warms my heart.
Oh dear, my daughters furry friend is Rudolf the rednose rendear. She loves him so much.
I love how he plays the music and how she gave him his special heart.
She got the Rudolf after she had a surgery on her upper lip for a hemmigioma (sorry for my english – my second language).
It was so wonderful to see her smiling about her new best friend, and to be honest, I love to have rudolf as our new family member. He makes all of us very happy – with his cute look and his wonderful music and his sweet lightinging nose.
We love you Rudolf!!
Jingles. Her name is Jingles. She has bells in her ears, is small….well….smaller than she was when I was a child. Or perhaps I am just bigger! My father bought her for me the day I was born, and I still have her today. She has had a couple of surgeries to keep her in good shape and thanks to the handiwork of my mother, these surgeries are virtually undetectable! Sometimes I think that Jingles has weathered the years better than I have. And of course my 6 year old son thinks it is very sweet that Mommy has her own teddy bear.
Lets face it…even when you’re the Mommy, a furry friend, albeit a very worn one, can bring a smile to your face!
My first furry friend was a black and white cat that I named Blacky. She became my confidant and special friend to tell anything to and who comforted me when I had bad dreams.
My dad bought me a limited edition holiday bear from Sears. I held unto him until my teen years and then happily recycled it so that it can be of use to someone else.
My first furry friend was Oggy Doggy… i still have him, he’s 25 years old now!!! I was never allowed to take him out of the house as a kid because my mom knew I would be devasted if we ever lost him… sometimes if I’m having a really bad day and I still tell him about it and hug him 🙂
My first furry friend was an orange mouse my brother won me at the fair. His name was Herman. That was over 40 years ago and I still have him.
My furry friend was a fuzzy little bunny and I took it everywhere I went. Wish I still had it.
I am not sure if he was my first bear, but he was my favorite 😉
When I was 2 or 3 for my birthday I got woken up late at night by my dad and given him. Beary was huge…bigger than me and I loved him so. I cried when I was 10 and my parents threw him away! I will never forget how special he was.
my furry friend as a young child was a blanket hand-knit by my grandmother. it is now a ball of yarn, but I still have it. At some point, I began taking a winnie-the-pooh bear to bed with me – and did throughout university!
Ted was my first furry friend. Ted is a big black and white Panda bear that my dad gave me when I was born. Ted went everywhere with me once I was big enough to carry him. He is missing an eye and the back of his head has a big scorch mark from when he was put too close to the heater but I still have him to remind me of my childhood – many, many, years ago.
The furry friends I remember most are my daughter’s Care Bears.
My first furry friend that i still have to this day is named mousie. Mousie is of course a pink and white mouse who i have had since i was days old. It is fun to see my children enjoying time with mousie nowadays, given all the cuddles that i myself have had over the years with her.
My first furry friend was a flat, pink & white stuffed bunny that someone gave me as a baby. I carried that poor rabbit around everywhere I went until I started school! And I STILL have it after all these years, though no-one in my family appreciates it as much as I did! lol
We didn’t have a lot of money when I was a child and I remember my mom would sew dolls for me and my three sisters. They were always so special and loved.
I remember when I was 5 years old and in in the hospital for ear surgery. I woke up with a bandage covering my whole head and my Aunt Joanne was there with a soft, fuzzy Snoopy stuffed toy. I loved it and still have it.
My first furry friend was Teddy the Teddy Bear.
first furry friend…….. a grey cat…… ahhh, the memories
My first furry friend was a fluffy teddy bear. He knew all my little secrets. I slept with him every night and to this day I still sleep with w teddy,,unfortunatly not the same one.
My first furry friend was Bambi, and he still is my favourite, by far…. I still LOVE him to pieces!! 🙂
My first stuffed animal was a small brown teddy bear with a tear drop on his cheek. I called him Cry Baby Bear and I loved him forever.
I never had any stuffed toys until I was in highschool and my boyfriend won me a cute little Siberian Husky dog!
My very first Furry Friend was a bear named Kerby and he wore a red sleepshirt that said “Kerby Loves Kaila” I wonder whatever happened to him??
My first furry friend was a toy bear
My first furry friend was a little toy puppy that could walk and bark.
I have a steiff teddy bear from Germany – he is my favourite.
My first furry friend was a white teddy bear which was named Teddy.
My first furry friend was probably a teddy bear! Isn’t this everyone’s first?
My first furry friend was a hedgehog made by Steiff, named Mecki. He was very precious! Whenever my parents went on vacation, they sent me “Mecki” postcards. I allowed my kids to play with him, and sadly, the nose got bitten off and he certainly looks his age now. I still have him (and a couple of the postcards) and whenever I look at this little guy, I start reminiscing about a carefree childhood.
My first furry friend was Winnie the Pooh – quite old and battered now, still was my favourite.
It was a compact brown and yellow bear named Tim whose plastic black and white eyes were later replaced with little black buttons after the originals popped off.
My first furry friend was a well-loved teddy bear named”Teddy”. He was a great side-kick for all my adventures.
my first teddy was bear that his eyes opened and closed i called him peepers
The very first stuffy i remember was a bunny. I’ve had it almost 35 years. My mom passed away in May 1976, and it was the last thing I remember getting from her. Both my brother and I woke up Easter morning that year to find a stuffed bunny at the ends of our beds. It’s a little worse for wear, but I still have it at my father’s home.
My first furry friend that I remember (because I probably had 50+ furry friends by the time I graduated university) was a pink and white bear I named Rosie . She was the sister of my brother’s older black and white bear named Teddy. She was very talented as she sang and danced. I have since donated most of my furry friends to charity.
IT’ s fun and it’s a bautiful toys!!!
It’s a great contest!!!
Actually, my first furry friend was my blankie – I wore that thing out my parents even replaced it without me noticing!
My first furry friend was a short-haired bunny with long fuzzy ears and a cottonball-like tail. I must’ve liked sucking on its nose because there’s very little of it left.
My first furry friend was a red bear that was crying from Tupperwear. My grandma sold tupperwear and he had belonged to my uncle when he was younger. My uncle has since become a grandpa and now his granddaughter has the bear:)
My first furry friend was a original Sunshine Care Bear
When I was a baby my grandmother from Europe sent me a Stieff teddy bear with moveable legs and arms and glassy eyes! I adored him and still have him in my collection ! I will pass it on to my children, they have played with him but he sits on myshelf!
My first furry friend was a cute pink teddy bear named “Lily”.
I don’t have my first “furry friend” anymore but I do have my first doll, still! I had lots of cute bears but wasn’t the type of kid to give them creative names like my kids do!
My first furry friend was Teddy, a bear of course (very original, I know!). I was able to learn how to tie his shoes, button his coat, tie his bow tie and zip up his zipper. He is now over 35 years old and my three kids now fight over who gets to sleep with him. He is rough around the edges and his zipper is now broken, but he still gets lots of love and attention.
My first teddy that I remember was Emma my pink bunny. I never went anywhere without her.
My favorite Teddy bear was a pink teddy bear that mt sister bought me for my birthday. He had stars on his stomach and I called him Star Bear. He made me feel comfortable and not scared I carried him everywhere and never went anywhere without him. My Nephew was having a hard time and was quit3e scared at night. I gave it to him and he slept with t every night and it made him feel comfortable too.

my first furry friend that i can remember was a pink cat that i called pinky. he was actually a p.j. bag and he had a zipper on the bottom that you could store your pjs in. i slept with pinky every night and his bits of fur that he still had were very ratty…but that didn’t matter at all!!
I had many furry friends growing up. The one I remember, and my kids still play with, is a Care Bear.
Awwww I would love to remember my first furry friend but all I have is picture memory….reason is that my mom moved around so much when I was younger that my little friend was left behind somewhere in one of the houses we had. Pretty sad 🙁 Im really happy to see all of you’s have happy memory but you know im never to old to make new ones right. cross my finger…..
my first fuzzy friend was a brown bear that I named Tumbleweed. I’m not sure where I came up with the name LOL. I still have him somewhere.
I recently discovered that my first furry friend (a Gund bear my sister bought me for my birthday) has now become my parents’ dogs new chew toy. I was not impressed.
my first furry friend had no name, and I had no idea what he was. He looked like a minx, but was bigger, islept with him every night. and i still have him to this day.
I had a stuffed furry monkey with vinyl hands holding a banana that I adored as a child.
Teddy was his name not very creative but I loved him anyways. By Baba made him with love. I slept with him until I was nine when unfortunately he fell apart. His arm fell off first then his leg. My mother said she would fix him but never did. I don’t know whatever happened to him after that.
My first, and best, furry friend was a pink elephant I got when I was in the hospital for a broken leg when I was about 2. 30+ years later I could still unfold his ear and see how soft and shiny he once was.
Her name was “Lambie” and she was so soft and cuddly. She would lay on my bed with me and participate in all my games. She would always let me win.
The first stuffie I can remember is a little tiger. He was filled with that foam that beanbag chairs are stuffed with, I think. He endured a lot. I tied a “leash” around his neck and took him on walks around the yard. He quickly lost any stiffness to his neck that he may have had and became quite floppy. But he traveled all over the yard with me.
I also remember the first stuffie my husband gave me, before we were dating 😀 I still have both of those stuffies tucked away somewhere safe.
My first stuffed animal was a lamb. I believe my mother still has it in her basement.
My daughter has a soft spot for stuffies; she would love these.
Those are so cute! We have a fav here too and it’s a monkey!
I don’t remember having a favourite stuffy. I was a barbie girl!
My first pal was my pink Ted E Bear. I still have him over 3 decades later!
My favorite teddy bear HAS to be unnamed bear. He was (at one time) gleaming and brown and soft & cuddly.
A teddy bear that I named Ben who had a red nose and bowtie.
My first furry friend was a soft black and tan stuffed dog that I carried everywhere with me.
I think it is appropriate to write about my daughter’s first favorite stufftie. In grade one, Breanna was having a hard time adjusting and regular encounters with a bully. I was heart broken and felt her pain everyday. We had never been to Build-a-Bear store so I decided to make a special day for her and I to go for the first time. I let her take a day off school and we had lunch in the foodcourt of the mall (a special treat she loves) and then we headed over. Well, she was totally overwhelmed and loved it! The atmosphere is so cheerful and the staff so friendly. She chose “Kitty” and has slept with her every night since! We even take her on vacation. I talked with Breanna that day, told her that life isnt always going to be easy or fun and school is something we all have to do but there will hopefully always be rays of sunshine like our precious first day at Build-a-Bear together that will take you through the gloom. That was a few years ago now, but she loves stuffties and Build-a-Bear still! Thanks for a great contest…
Actually I never had a teddy bear but a had a little fur muff that went with me everywhere. Loved it to bits.
The bear that I remember the most was a brown bear I received for Christmas when I was seven. What made this bear special and me remember it so much is we were in Florida on a family vacation of Christmas. My brothers kept telling me there was no Santa so when this bear showed up for me on Christmas morning; I knew there was a Santa b/c there was no where my parents could hide that bear without me knowing about it….to this day, I don’t know where they kept it hidden!
Froggie. My grandparents and parents used to play with Froggie and my other stuffies, but Froggie was the best. He was a green frog that could also fit on your back for a backpack. He also had a zipper to put stuff in. He was so cool and cute and I loved Froggie. I still have him in a bag with some other of my old stuffies.
My first little furry friend was a rainbow dog that my family brought to me when I was first born. I haven’t seen her for awhile now but she was always by my side while I grew up and was there to comfort me through all the tough times.
my first was a little monkey that my dad won for me at the fair
My first furry friend was a black and white bear I called Teddy. He met his demise when he was wash one to many times and fell apart. He wasn’t made of the great washable materials they now have avaliable.
My first furry friend was a brown teddy bear.
My first fury friend was a small bear with wings that I called angel
My bear is still with me. He is about 8 inches tall, has short arms and legs, features are quite bland, he is a faded pink, and he goes everywhere and has traveled more than some humans.
My first furry friend was the bear I recieve when I was just a newborn… it had an insertable heart that when you snuggled with it made a real sounding hearbeat… I loved and still love him to death… 25 years later and he still has a place on my bed lol
My first teddy was a bunny but her ears had fallen off before I could even remember her having ears and where they used to be were two holes where you could see her stuffing. She could wind up and make music which now is completely out of tune. Even though she is old she still is as real as she was when I was 4.
I still have mine. His name is Teddy.
my first furry friend i got when i was born. He was a nice brown chubby bear with caramel accents. I had him until I was about twelve. He went EVERYWHERE with me. His eyes were dangling out, and there were a few tears, but I still loved him. I ended up leaving him out near our tree fort and he got into the mud, and was soaking wet and dirty. My mother decided to throw him out while I was at a friends house. I was SO UPSET and even to this day, I still remind her of what she had done lol
my first furry friend, i got when i was two, and i had it up until a few years ago it was so tattered,, well it was almost 50 anyway, he was a dog and I named him Rex.. i miss him
My first stuffed toy was a bear my dad had bought for me the day I was born!
My first stuffy was a big blue fluffy Cookie monster.
My first stuffed toy was mickey from disneyland — I took him everywhere.
My first furry friend was a light blue teddy bear which I still have! Now my daughter has it 🙂
there was a purple hippo that i loved:)
my first furry friend was a green hippo. he’s missing his ears & an eye. it’s still around somewhere…
My first furry friend is a very cute tiger which I still have in my room.
My first teddy that I remember, my Grandmother gave my cousin and I each one, was a small golden yellowish brown colour. It has a little squeeky button on it’s stomach which long ago stopped squeeking. I still have it at my dad’s house stashed away. I always loved this bear even with it’s scratchy feeling fur, because my Grammie gave it ti me, who passed away when I was 8yrs old. I kept it ever since.
My first furry friend was a white sheep named ‘Sheep’. I received him on the day that I was born and he is still with me to this day. Poor thing is missing an eye and some stuffing to boot! No longer white, Sheep has lost his brilliance with age; however he is still perfect to me!
My first furry friend was a stuffed green squirrel. OMG, how I loved him so! I took him everywhere, and kept him until my adult life! When my marriage failed, we sold the house, and (well) everything went everywhere….and nothing was where it was suppose to be anymore! Somehow, my squirrel went MIA and I have never seen him again.
My 42 yr relationship came to an abrupt end.
…..I don’t want to talk about it anymore 🙁
My first bear was under the Christmas tree. He was the softest stuffed animal I ever had…can’t say that now. His fur is tangled and rough and he is stored safely away from little children’s hands as he probably wouldn’t pass a safety inspection for toys!! But he is still very loved and possesses some of my most favourite childhood memories!!
My first stuffed toy was my Raggedy Ann, I loved her so much I literally wore her out beyond recognition before I was 5. My next and one I still have is a wind up Snoopy that plays a lullaby. He was my best buddy! I got him for my 6th birthday and I have not carefully passed him to my daughter who finds it so funny that her very own Mommy used to play with stuffies too!
My first furry friend that I remember was a big black poodle dog and my sister had a pink one.
If I win, do I have to tell my daughter?!? LOL My first was a teddy bear my Grandma bought me when I went in for surgery…nothing serious was the operation, but what a great bear!! Still have it!! 😀
I remember spotting the softest and cutest stuffed bear way up high on a shelf at a local grocery store and i wanted it so badly. I couldnt stop wishing for that golden bear and i made sure i mentioned it (or begged to have it) all the time to my Mom.
On christmas morning i got that bear and a miniature version for its baby too…i couldnt have been happier.
My first furry friend was a little brown squirrel that I named Peanuts. Peanuts went everywhere with me, sleepovers, camping, holidays, hospital, dentists, and even school! I always had Peanuts with me! He’s still here and doesn’t look like much of anything anymore… his fur is all gone, has bandaids where his eyes used to be, and lots of stitches all over, but I still carry him around with me. I just cannot let go of him. Oh yes, he had a little tag that I use to put my finger in and suck my thumb when I was really small….. sure was comfort for me. I can even remember my mom saying “go to your room with Peanuts and have a little “suckie” session to settle down and it worked! So, a new bear would be so welcomed in this home and Peanuts will gladly show him the ropes… how to be put up high so the dogs don’t bite me!
I still have my pink bunny from when I was little. I slept with it every night until I was 8 or 9. I don’t even think it has a gender, although it’s pink. It’s hanging out in my closet with my husband’s brown bear. My daughter has lots of stuffed animals and she had a bunny as well, but her favourite thing was her blankie until she got her first Webkinz. Now she can’t go to bed without Jack the beagle. She’s 11. And a half. 🙂 The resident Webkinz and Build-a-Bears would love another friend.
My first teddy bear was pink and my aunt gave him to me. I still have it 24 years later now I want to give him to my son.
I had this pink cat, with green eyes, an orange nose, and a beautiful long tail. Oooooh how I loved that cat…i took it (and forgot it) everywhere, until one time I finally really forgot it somewhere and never found it again. The funny thing is, both of my sons favourite stuffies are cats too…and I didn’t influence them on that…we don’t even have a pet (except fish).
My first furry friend was actually my sister’s first furry friend and he sits proudly on a shelf and when my children are really sad they ask for their special cuddle time with him and when they are done they carefully put him back on his shelf. He is now half a century and shows his age but shows how much we have all loved him through the years.
My first furry friend was a little stuffed dog called Doggie that I received from my Grandma when I was born. 36 years later, he still has a place of honour next to our bed!
My first furry friend was a cute dog called Puppy.. my son now loves him along with a whole lot of other furry friends that he loves to play and snuggle with especially at bed time.
My first furry friend was called Baby Bear (original I know), I still have my bear, and my children have played with him. He’s been mine since birth, and became the start of a small teddy bear collection. My girls each have a Build-a-Bear that they love, but my oldest is partial to her first bear, which I bought while she was in utero.
My first furry friend was a bear given to me as a baby. I still have it (even though its all beat up) put away with some of my dolls that I had as a child.
My first furry friend was a stuffed dog named PJ! I had named him after my “boyfriend” in preschool, haha!
My first and favourite stuffy was a yellow Tweety Bird from the Army & Navy store. He was SO cute and cuddly! I just loved him and couldn’t be without him. Recently, I was at my childhood home visiting my parents. They are de-cluttering and they had found Tweety buried in one of the storage boxes. Now MY little guy hauls him around everywhere and to see him with Tweety transports me back to my childhood and I have to smile. Love the memories!
I can’t recall if I had a fav stuffie as a child (though I know I had a blanket I took EVERYWHERE!!)
My youngest has a blanket bunny (bunny head with a soft blanket body) that is called Bunny (so original I know ;)) and always has to be with her. We’ve misplaced Bunny a few times and it always resulted in a frantic search through the house at bedtime.
My older daughter has a regular rotating army of favorite stuffies. She’s always begging for a new one to add to the group
My grandson Dane, now 16 did not have one, he had a stuffed animal collection. He had many and loved them all and treated each one like a best friend. He had them ALL sleep with him, each night carefully designating a special spot in the bed depending on which one was in favor at that particular moment. One morning when Dane was about 7, I went into his room and found him wrapped in a quilt sleeping on a toy chest. Upon waking him I asked him why he wasn’t in his bed. He said, “Look Grandma, there isn’t enough room for me”.
I had a neon green stuffed bear that I loved. (It would be 34 or 35 years old now.) My 20 month old daughter still plays with it and it’s in fairly decent shape, surprisingly!
My first “furry” friend had no fur, I still have him currently he is on my dresser he watches over me while I sleep. His name is Moo Moo. He is my beloved purple cow, he has a chewed off horn now, and half a smile (from so many kisses) he has a pin in his leg (not sure the story of that I just remember the safety pin and hole always being there). My brother got him for me for Christmas when I was two (this is the storey I have been told) and I have always adored this crazy little guy. I could not really talk, but could make the cow sound, and drove everyone NUTS going Moo Moo all that Christmas LOL- that would be my first, and favorite “furry” animal. Not a scrap of fur on him (ever)
My very first furry friend was a teddy bear named Pookie, I still have him many years later and hope to pass him on to a grandchild one day!
My first stuffed animal I received on my 1st birthday, a large pink dog with blue ears. My aunt had gifted it to me and I loved that dog, my sister named it for me (“Pinky”…how original!). That thing I dragged everywhere, with its matted ‘fur’ and plastic blue eyes. It followed me to university, back and forth every year and when I returned home on weekends and holidays, on vacation (yep, I dragged it in a carryon and got MORE than one weird look from border guards), away when I taught overseas, back home when I settled in Ontario and finally when I got married, my then-husband insisted that “Pinky” meet his maker. So, after 28 years, I gave up that dear, bald dog. Now, after ten years of marriage and now a divorce, I wish I had my Pinky back! I have told my kids about this toy, with love like part of a family which sounds so weird, but that it was like home whenever I wasn’t there…they love hearing about my strange pink doggie!
My first furry friend was a stuffed monkey. He had a banana attached to his hand that you could put into his mouth. I took him everywhere with me.
My first actual furry toy was an owl that my grandma gave to me that slept in my crib. Shortly there after my mom bought me this yellow ‘thing’ no one knows quite what kind of animal she was, but she was my very best friend. I named her sunshine. She helped me with my school work, she came on car rides with me, and she kept the boogie man away from me at night! She now sits proudly on my dresser with a few of my other favorite stuffies. She is well loved, she is missing one eye and her nose is completely rubbed off. But she is still among one of my best friends!
My first stuffed animal was a tiny puppy “Piccolo”. My father gave him to me on my first birthday and I carried him with me everywhere. He is in all my pictures with me. I loved tossing him high up in the air and catching him until one day I missed and he hit the pavement and his button eye fell off. I was devastated. My dad decided to try and glue it back on, but when it dried the eye turned white. I felt so bad for hurting him, I treated him with extra care since then.
I actually just found him in a memories box of mine and that great feeling of my childhood rushed back. It was great seeing my old best friend.
The first one that I remember was a Care Bear named GentleHeart Lamb. My parents went away for a week and brought us each home a stuffed toy. I still have him to this day, he’s now loved by my son.
I had a little nameless teddy bear, which I still have to this day! I loved him!
my first furry friend I believe was teddy ruxpin? Not sure of the spelling but that’s the one I remember
The first fuzzy toys I remember were two identical stuffed penguins. They were my first birthday presents from my Grandma and Grandpa, who were divorced and had no idea that the other had purchased the identical present! The penguins had felt beaks that for some reason I found irrisistible, and I sucked on those beaks until there was nothing left of them! lol
I never really had an attachment toy, I was number 2 of 4 so life was a bit chaotic.
Both my daughters have attachment toys (each having an identical duplicate for backup). They really adore them.
Build-A-Bear is a lot of fun for birthdays. We visited their store in Tampa, the girls went nuts.
OMG what a cute story. I had a kid-sized life-sized Winnie-the-pooh. He seems to be in most of my baby pictures and still sits in “poohs corner” at my mom’s house. e was my best friend attending every tea party, parade, costume party, wagon ride and scary movie night. A little large to bring everywhere with me but enver got lost and was always there waiting for me when I got home.
I must admit that I don’t remember my first teddy bear. I did get a cabbage patch doll as a little girl and loved it like crazy.
My First cute and cuddly was a bunny rabbit which I have handed down to my daughter, who she absolutley loves and sleeps with and she is 9. There has been a lot of patch work done and it should probably be put up but havent been able too yet. Hopefully it will last long enough for her child to appreciate it as well.
My first teddy given to me as a baby was my favorite.
“Teddy” is a plain beige teddy bear given to me shortly after I was born from grandparents I never had an opportunity to meet as they lived in England. Yes, I still have Teddy to this day and he remains in excellent shape as I love him today just as much as I did as a yougn child. Sentimental, cherrished and adored !
My very first and favourite stuffed toy is a curious george that I still have tucked away for safe keeping in my basement. Once my girls are a little older I will bring him back out and share him with them. He has had his googly eyes replaced several times and his name is wearing off his shirt, he has been all over the place and it shows.
My first plush was a mommy bear with her baby bear attached to her with a cord between them. A song was playing while the baby bear came back to his mommy bear….cute….I felt asleep each time !
My first plush was a pink elephant that I got from my aunt when I came to Canada when I was six and her name was PINKY. I took her everywhere. Then one day my wicked sister cut off her head when I was 10 and left it under my covers and I was horrified and never got another plush.
My first friend was a homemade patchwork rabbit named Bugsy. My grandmother was a marvel at handstitching and using a sewing machine(one of the old Singer treadle ones)I received it on the day I was born. It was made of very soft cotton from old sheets and pillow cases. All of the facial features were embroidered and it was stuffed with rags and old nylons.
My first stuffed animal was a Teddy Bear. No idea what his name was. So long ago…
My first stuffed animal was a yellow bunny. He was very soft and adorable.
My monkey – I carried it around with me all the time until I lost him. Has really been the same since then:(
It doesn’t really count as furry but i had a Rainbow Brite doll i was obssessed with. She was soft and had yarn yellow hair. My parents didn’t have a lot of money so we didn’t have very many toys.
Mine is a bunny which I still have somewhere in my basement.
My favorite was this white kitten i had that came with a little cage and lock. I would lock it up at night to keep it protected from theft. Lol.
my first bear was called mr. buttons and he had buttons for eyes. i still have him.

My mother made me a super simple pink elephant when I was about 4. It was my confidant and a pillow and defendor from monsters. Sadly, I basically loved it to pieces and he is no longer with us.
My first furry friend was a teddy bear named teddy. My aunt gave him to me when I was three and I still have him. He slept with me every night until I was 12 and I saved him for when I have kids. My girls are now enjoying him and he is still in great shape!
My first furry friend was a golden coloured teddy bear. I dragged it around everywhere with me. I think I was about 7 when it was no more. It got dirty and my mom put it in the washer (you know those old ringer washers?). It did not survive being flattened by the rollers and came out in pieces…
My first furry friend was my beloved fluffy teddy bear named Bartholomew, or Barth for short! His pale fur was always super soft and comforting, and I have had him since I was 5 years old, taking good care of him ever since. Whenever I got sick he was the first thing I wanted with me in bed, because I could squeeze him and hug him and he would make me feel better. I have no idea how I came up with that goofy name at such a young age, but it suits him! And even though I’m 30 now, I still drag him out sometimes when I’m sick and feeling crappy… and he still makes me feel better! ;D
my first animal friend? tramp from lady and the tramp…he was bigger than me:)
still have him, he has gone through all three of mu kids as well and presently lives in my toddler’s bedroom:)
I still have packed away two of my stuffies from my childhood. Beanbag Kitty and Dusty. My son has his trusty fox who seemed massive when he was given to him on day 2 of his life by my brother. My brother is 15 years younger than me so he is so proud my son chose Foxy as his best bud.
My first furry friend is Softy
I received him for Christmas in 1988. I was 3.
My brother (who was 5) grabbed him, hugged him, swirled him around, exclaiming “Softy! Soofty! Softy!” Hence how he got his name.
He was white, with red paws and ears. He wore a toque and a scarf, both of which were red, and the toque read “1988” on it
He is one of only two of my furry friends that I have not gifted to my daughter.
My first furry friend was a polar bear Gund – named barry
My stuffed horse Quick Draw McGraw !
My first furry friend is a stuffed Sharpei dog who doesn’t have a name. For being almost 25 years old, he’s in quite good shape. He currently sits in my 13 month old’s bedroom on her shelf. 🙂
That is going back sooooo many years but I do remember and have my youngest son’s first furry friend he recieved for his first birthday from birth pal(born same day same time) and us mothers shared a room this bear is now 25 years old and other than 1 eye it is in great shape
My first furry freind was a Gund
My first furry friend was a pink poodle. I loved that stuffy to complete shabbiness…. it was lost several decades ago, but thank-you for giving me the opportunity to remember her.
My first fuzzy was a plush pig that my mom made from a pattern she found in a magazine. I called her Pinky and she lived under my pillow for many years where she was privy to my deepest thoughts and fears. Today she lives in a drawer beside my bed.
A white duck.
My first furry friend was a pink and white mouse that I received the day or two after I was born. It had a music box or whatever those are called in the back of it but I honestly can’t ever remember it playing. I’m going to assume because it was my favorite stuffed animal and probably got washed a lot.
And yes, I still have it…. it’s not fuzzy anymore though!!
Thank you!!
My first furry friend was a carebear!
My first furry friend was a teddy bear named Ted. LOL Yes I know, not original at all but it seemed perfect at the time.
My mother has sewn a bear for me when I was a toddler. He was fuzzy had button eyes and nose, his name was Teddy. He was a warm bed partner of mine and suddenly I lost Teddy when I was four years old…I remember missing him at bedtime and crying for him for months on end. Then I father found him in a cellar we had under our log house. Oy, I think my dog had dragged him to the opening of that cellar and it fell over. Since I know I used to be too scared to go to any open areas that had some dept to it and my dog Skip also loved Teddy to play with. Teddy was rather smelly like the old cellar when was first pulled out but my mother washed him and put him to hang on an outside line for a long time and it was during a cold wintery month. I remember being lifted up to touch him the first day he was hung there and he was frozen..that made me sad but mother said he has to air out to make him smell all fresh again.
I did give up Teddy as a bedtime partner when I was about 7 years old. I have given him to a niece since I became an aunt at such age. But I never forgotten Teddy as my first and best furry friend I have ever had!
My first furry friend was a stuffed cat. I took it everywhere pretending i really had a pet.
My first furry friend was a little brown teddy bear named Sammy. When I was about seven years old, a large family in our area had a bad house fire & lost most of their possessions. When my mother was packing up some of our outgrown clothing to donate to the family, I gave her Sammy to pack in with everything else for the little girl to have. I knew she needed a furry buddy more than I did!
Mine was Orange Juice and yes, he is orange! I got him when I was 2 and my daughter still plays with him. I gave him a hair cut once and accidentally made a hole in his body that my mom patched up with a heart and stitched on I Love You.
My favorite teddy bear HAS to be unnamed bear. He was (at one time) gleaming and brown and soft & cuddly. Well the years (and abuse) I put him through definitely aged him.. oh by about a million years…. He’s now droopy.. one arm is missing half the stuffing in it so he’s got a weenie thin upper arm.. and he’s blind in one eye. I lost his eye years ago and that just became a part of him LOL. He’s my buddy though and I still love him lots 🙂
My first furry friend, who still sits proudly on the bookcase in our bedroom, was named Roy. He is a bunny rabbit with big long ears held up by wire. His tummy is so soft. I slept with him every single night right into my teens. He is not very big, only about 8 inches high, but he was the best snuggle bunny. He has stood the test of time and is one of my most cherished possessions.
