On Saturday, June 9th the Worldwide Short Film Festival is taking the CN TOWER (Toronto) to new heights with a full day of special screenings and activities. It’s a great opportunity for families to take their little ones to a very special cultural event during the day. Couples can also take advantage of the evening night out screenings at the tower.
Three different programs for three different audiences and all screenings include tickets to include a ride up to the CN Tower’s Look out and Glass Floor levels.
Families who love Saturday morning cartoons will love Shorts for Shorties: Mission to the Milky Way (10:00 am). Bring the kids to enjoy a selection of animated short films that will take them on all sorts of journeys from roller coaster rides to space travel. Then stick around after the screening for an animation workshop where kids can make their own movie (in partnership with the National Film Board of Canada). Take the kids up the tower before or after the screening. Each ticket purchased ($25) admits one adult and two children 12 and under.
International Comedy: Laughter without Borders (6:00 pm) is a hilarious collection of shorts that will make you laugh until you cry! Tickets to this program include a post-screening cocktail and appetizer tray at Horizon’s Restaurant. Tickets are $30 each.
Treat your date to an evening screening of romantic comedies and tear jerkers from around the world with unexpected encounters, eternal promises, and intimate moments. This collection of shorts concludes with a romantic spectacular nighttime view of Toronto over dessert and coffee at Horizon’s Restaurant. Date Night at 8:15 pm
Tickets are $25 each.
The CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival is the largest short film festival in North America. This is the 18th year running with the Festival showcasing 244 films from 25 countries at different theatre locations across Toronto – 207 of the films shown will be premieres, with 38 World Premieres. A variety of genres made up of live-action, animation, experimental, documentary and music videos. The festival runs from June 5 to 10 with screenings, industry round-tables, and workshops.
