Every day as I leave for work the sun is already up. When did that happen? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Even though we didn’t get the cold winter that some pundits were predicting, I am still more than ready for winter to be done, and the longer days are early harbingers of spring’s arrival. Yay!
Early spring means two things to me: slush and Easter. Slush (unless dispensed in a highball glass by my friend Lorraine) has nothing to recommend it, but Easter is the high point of the season. Even though in Canada we don’t get the weather required for lavish Easter frocks and hats or outdoor egg-hunts amidst fields of blooming tulips, Easter still lets us know that spring is – despite appearances – here, and the warm sunny weather is right on its heels.
Easter is full of wonderful associations. Families gather for the first big celebration since Christmas. The cold breaks and the warm weather is on its way. Everywhere life is burgeoning afresh: flower shoots are pushing through the snow, trees will soon be in bud and cute baby animals are everywhere. I suppose it’s a reference to our more agricultural past, but baby animals really are symbols of spring’s renewal, which is celebrated at Easter time.
What could be cuter than a wee baby lamb, covered in knots of curly white fleece? Why, an AERO lamb! It’s cuteness and sweetness (two Easter staples) all wrapped up in one chocolatey package. If you haven’t already seen these in stores, you really need to have your eyes checked. They are perfect and cute as can be and filled with delicious AERO bubbles. I honestly have to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from squeeling with delight when I see them. You know the Easter Bunny had better be bringing a basket full of these to my house this spring!
And as if AERO lambs weren’t enough, you can find KIT KAT bunnies and SMARTIES eggs to round out your basket of treats. My kids absolutely adore KIT KAT, and these little bars with a cute bunny embossed on the front will really tickle their fancy on Easter morning. As for me, there’s nothing I love more than SMARTIES, and a bag of SMARTIES eggs would be a pretty sweet treat for mom.
But the best part of all is the incredibly cute series of Sweet Easter Sendables available to fans of Nestle’s Facebook fan page. All you have to do is to like Nestle on Facebook and you have access to these adorable apps that allow you to create ridiculously cute and customizable greetings for the Easter season. Check out these Sweet Easter Sendables I made:
Aren’t they just too cute for words? And the lamb? To die for…so cute. I love these cute little sendables, and my kids had a lot of fun with the customization elements (you can add little top hats and bunny ears and eggs to your pictures). But the fun doesn’t stop just at the app – now you can use your sendable and cute Easter pics to enter a contest to win these delicious treats as well!

I haven’t tried the new Smartie Eggs of Aero lamb. I’m a huge chocolate fan and will definitely need to pick some up for Easter!
