Hi. I have always wondered why McDonald’s shakes used to be called milkshakes but when they changed them (they were better before IMHO) they were renamed shakes. Does this mean there is no milk in them? If not, then what are they made from?
Cool idea, btw!

There is definitely MILK in them Meg! It is the first ingredient. I think people just do not realize that the best ingredients are the simplest things, and McDs has figured that out.
I know that I thought the cheese slices on cheeseburgers were processed cheese because they seem to melt so perfectly, but NO in fact that are 100% cheddar cheese. The cream is real cream in my McCafe and yes there really is milk in the triple thick milkshakes, they have just figured out how to make them so tasty from testing them in the McDs test kitchen.
Their head chef, Chef Dan, has an amazing culinary background, that I am sure that he was surprised and amazed as I was, that McDs, a fast food chain, takes food so seriously! It is because of these phenomenal talented culinary people and food tasters, that our McDs choices taste so GOOD!

Meg,
I have been thinking about this question for a few days and did a little research.
Firstly, the word shake and milkshake are used interchangeably. It has nothing to do with the product content. Everything is shortened these days, we do not even say “Oh My God” anymore it is now OMG!
Secondly, you can find the product details for any McDonalds product via this link to our site http://www.mcdonaldsmom.ca/ .
And, more specifically about McDonalds Triple Thick Shake, here is a myth buster also found on our site: http://www.mcdonalds.ca/en/food/myth_busters.aspx .
Keep the questions coming!!!!!!
