HI GORGEOUSES!
Are we all having an oscar party??? We’re having pizza here, and I have my macbook in front of me — so I can give you my up-to-the-minute reactions to everyone who’s anyone on the red carpet! (PICS TO COME ON WEDNESDAY!)

First off, J-LO — HELLO — fabulous.
She actually looks totally normal and glam. The dress is magnificent. And, her hair is surprisingly pretty and understated. Loves it. (Marc Anthony looks like death as usual.)
Jessica Biel…HOTTNESS in a fuchsia gown. What a bod…. HAAAATE Jada Pinkett Smith‘s bridesmaid type goldish dress. Jodie Foster looks lovely in blue…. Can’t wait to bring you PICS. Jennifer Hudson looks GORJ in the brown (not sure I like that shiny gold jacket thingy, though, but hopefully she takes it off). Kelly Preston looks aiight in an animal print — it’s sexy, but I can’t get past the voice in my head screaming SCIENTOLOGIST whenever I look at her and John Travolta….
More dresses…."Who’s THAT?" I just said "Who’s that?" And, it was actually Celine Dion in a totally gorj hunter-green dress! I never thought I’d ever like what Celine was wearing. Go Canada! Cate Blanchett looks très elegant and…sparkly! LOVE the sparkly! Helen Mirren? Unbelievable. Perfect dress for her age: age-appropriate AND gorj.
Kirsten Dunst…not good. She’s a terrible every-day dresser as it is. So, I’m not surprised she can’t pull off a good Oscar dress….Anne Hathaway? Hideous. Safe in the black-and-white and a totally uggers in the proportions. Thumbs down. Beyonce? UG-GERS! The face is gorj and the hair is surprisingly understated and pretty, but the dress is a flop, as usual for her. No surprises, no surprises there. And, OH Gwyneth Paltrow! She can never get it right. Really pretty coral colour of dress, but the rest is not quite right….Better than some of her past choices, fashizzle (i.e., for sure), but still not the most flattering dress for her.
Alan Arkin? How freaking adorable is HE!? DANIEL CRAIG? Holy hotness…soooo BOND! LOVE! Djimon Hounsou? What a beautiful looking man. I wonder if he’ll score with Cameron Diaz tonight? Cam doth look pretty…! Eddie Murphy‘s date’s dress is a definite stunner….He looks cute.
Rachel Weisz just annoys me. So, although the dress is quite the stunner, I’m not loving it. Also annoying? Penelope Cruz. She has to go away. In the meantime, though, her dress is quite lovely. A little ostrichy, but pretty.
Omigosh, I think Kate Winslet is my one of my faves tonight so far — a reddish-head in mint green that fits her PERFECTLY? Stunning.
Nicole Kidman STANDS OUT in red. Wow…. It’s a bit much. With the bow and everything…? Methinks me hates it….ALTHOUGH, she does look absolutely beautiful in it. It’s a great colour on her! And, if you can pull off that colour…kudos!
Queen Latifah is playing it safe in black. Reese Witherspoon? STUNNING. Wow. Gorj dress, gorj hair, gorj makeup. I’ve never seen Resse look better. And, Portia de Rossi? Also, never looked better — heavenly.
Abigail Breslin is the cutest thing EVAH! OY! Is Jack Nicholson…bald?
OMIGOSH, my jaw just DROPPED at the sight of CLIVE OWEN! No. words. AAAAHHHHH! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! I’m going insane from the slightest peek at him!
My pizza was gross, by the way. Why would they sprinkle my broccoli with garlic? WHY? Totally ruined it. I’m so depressed now. Well, no. Because it’s OSCAR NIGHT! Nothing can depress me tonight.

And, the winner is…JENNIFER GARNER!!! Because I’ve never seen a celebrity embrace motherhood like this. She’s EVERYWHERE with Violet, and she looks like you and me, you know? Well, like me, anyway (cuz maybe you look like Gwen everyday…or like the fabulous Ali)…. Wearing the jeans, the sloppy shirt, the hair up in a ponytail. Loves it!
Gwen Stefani comes in a CLOSE second. The high heels she always sports makes her a tad less relatable than Jen….But, still, HEART!

Man, do I ever need to get out there and see a few movies! LOL, I didn’t watch the show (hubby forbade it and honestly I find it boring usually so didn’t demur) so I’ll be waiting with bated breath for your wardrobe reviews and photos tomorrow! Loved the urbanmoms mommy oscars. Agree 100% with your pick of Jen Garner.
I agree Reese looked fab. I really liked jada’s dress…i think she looked so pretty and did you see her face watching her son son present. awwwww… proud momma! Anne Hathaway yucky dress..beautiful face and hair. Did not like any of jennifer hudson’s outfits. I thought ellen was great and looked beautiful aswell. Hubby and I watched the whole show!!
Also enjoyed the Oscars, loved it when the French winner called the Oscar a doll.
Reese’s dress, I also loved it. Loved Celine’s and Jodie Fosters as well. Really made her eyes stand out.
Did not like Jennifer Hudson’s jacket or Anne Hathaway’s dress.
Love your pick for best celebrity mom. I love Jen Garner. Although saw her new movie last week and cried through the whole thing.

I thought Nicole and Penelope looked great, Celine was the best I have seen her in years. Kristin Dunst looked horrid – what was with that dress – if that’s what you would call it?
I didn’t think Jennifer deserved the Oscar she was good but Adriana from Babel deserved to win was amazing in that film.
WOW. Can’t.keep.up. Loved Reese, Celine, Maggie, Cameron. HATED J-Lo (nothing new for me), Jennifer Hudson (dress & jacket), & that looked like a VASE on Nicole’s shoulder! DID.NOT.LIKE.
LOVED Ellen as host! Why is Jack bald? ewwwww.

Not sure I am as into Jennifer Hudson…I just don’t get it when people win things and they thank god like 60 times…did god spend his time planning for you to get an Oscar while people are dying and starving around the world?! I hope not.

I loved Reese. I didn’t really like the colour of Celine’s Dress. I loved Portia DaRossi. Stunning.
It was such a good Oscars.
My personal favourite moment is when my son got out of bed at like 9pm and it coincided with when they were doing the songs. And the guy was singing the song from Cars. Matty heard it and sat with us and said “Mommy it’s the Lightening Song” (as in Lightening McQueen). And then they showed Lightening and Mater in the audience. He was sooooo excited.

also? jlo? why does she always go for the empire waist? does she not realize that empire waists only look good on women who are 6 feet tall and weigh 100 pounds??!! i did NOT like the look. i did like her hair, though. nice.

Hey Jod! I’ll be posting the pics of all these dresses with captions on Wednesday. This is just my live, minute-by-minute reaction. But, I find a lot of the dresses look better/worse in the pics than they did on TV. So, my opinion may change. We’ll see. 🙂
