As we all get ready to kick back and enjoy the long weekend – I started thinking about what makes this great country of ours special to me.
I mean, I know it’s not this…
or this….
or even this…
It means:
hot humid summers and icy cold winters,
the drop of the puck and the roll of the rim,
the coast to coast and the north to WAY north,
the beaver and the moose,
the foliage in the fall and the first buds of spring,
the back bacon and the back-to-back world series,
the poutine and the ketchup chips,
the english and the french,
the black flies and the black squirrels,
the fresh water and the clean air,
the freedom and the democracy,
the immigration and the diversity,
the peacekeeping and the politics.
