Today is November 30th, which means it’s the very last day in Movember, the mustache-growing charity that raises funds and awareness about prostate cancer. I think it’s a wonderful cause, even though I am sort of anti facial hair, because, well, we all know what happens when you take a pretty face and you, well, do THIS to it…
(Not that I’d ever turn the HammBeard away….)
But this month has gotten me thinking about celebs and mustaches. You know, there are the ones you automatically think of – – the Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck types. But then there are the ones who show up in front of the cameras sporting new! mustaches and goatees and beards. It’s probably safe to say that most celebs grow facial hair for roles and not for causes like Movember. But it’s still so fascinating to see how different some of these guys look.
Hmm. Are you digging any of these? Hating any of them?
I’ll leave you with this thought. Do you think anyone will EVER sport a ‘stache as lovely as Ron Burgundy’s???
I don’t think so.
I don’t think so.
Christine says
I saw it. I loved it! I laughed!!

It all just reminds me of Mr Armstrong, my grade 8 math teacher, whose mustache was like Jamie Hyneman on Mythbusters (no really, it really, really was EXACTLY the same!). He used to take a big slurp of his tepid coffee (with loads of cream & sugar), then, if you weren’t paying attention (which, let’s face it, I never was) he would lean down into your face and BLOW THE COFFEE THROUGH HIS MUSTACHE SPRAYING IT ALL OVER YOUR FACE.
So how do I feel about facial hair?
*shudders*
Ali says
AHEM. Christine…what would you say to, um, a VIDEO of Papi?
There may be one in the works…
Christine says
YES ALI! We need one last shot of Papi before it’s gone!
Nancy says
very few beautiful men look better with facial hair but an unattractive man can look wildly good with something covering up a little. just my thoughts.
Sara says
I disagree with ALL OF YOU! I’m sad to see the end of Movember…. I love facial hair – love. I love Jon Hamm with beard – I’ll give you that those shots of Clooney, Pitt and Jude Law are not my faves….but I way prefer the dirty, hairy hippy look to the clean cut…but Christine…that term flavour savour makes me want to puke…I think of that only with the hanging goatee which is revolting…I’ll give you chicks that!
Jen says
Hey! Where’s the pic of your lovely hubby, our very own celeb Chef Dad and HIS Movember stache? Pics please.
Christine says
I agree with Tracy. I’m a big germophobe and all I can think of is all the sneeze-germs festering in the ‘stache…hubby’s sports one that connects to his goatee and I hate it.
Some people call them flavor savours. I just call them ick.
Tracey says
‘Staches are dirty… Movember is cool though.
Allison Zapata says
Ron is the only one who can pull it off.
Jen says
I hate facial hair, especially on myself! 😉
