Fox News host apologizes as bodies return (National Post)
In our opinion: Perhaps we shouldn’t dignify this story with any more commentary than it’s already received, but when the footage of Fox’s satirical news show Red Eye (which airs at 3:00 am) hit the internet this weekend, it engendered a rash of anti-American vitriol and has the story still lingering in headlines days later. Host Greg Gutfeld’s so-called apology sounds more like an excuse: “…my words may have been misunderstood. It was not my intent to
disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military…”

Dalai Lama ban halts conference (BBC)
In our opinion: Desperately trying to deny that they’ve been bullied by Beijing into denying the Dalai Lama entry to their country, South African government spokespeople stammer out ever-lamer excuses for refusing to allow the Nobel laureate to attend a peace conference scheduled for this week in conjunction with the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg. Conference organizers have decided to postpone the conference indefinitely, “…in the interests of peace”.

Rihanna back on the market (TMZ)
In our opinion: Finally! After fears that she and Chris Brown (who badly beat her) would reconcile, Rihanna has been spotted house-hunting in Hollywood – without Brown. Seems she has found the courage to make a difficult but necessary choice.

That Greg Gutfeld is obviously a jerk. I watched the original show and along with the typical “Canadian’s are pathetic” jokes the jab at Canadian soldiers, especially now, is just tasteless.
Hopefully this news about Rhianna is for real.
