I love, love, love fashion blogs, and as we’ve previously addressed, I tend to have Kate Spade taste on a Forever 21 budget. I (duh) gravitate toward pricier things, but can’t justify them, because of things like my kids’ tuition, which adds up to more than what it costs to power Luxembourg. I mean, I’m guessing, but I took one semester of Macroeconomics, so I THINK I know what I’m talking about, you know?
I recently stumbled across a jewel of a blog, Uber Chic for Cheap, which is PERFECT for those of us who want pretty things, without the hefty price tag. Madeline, the blog author, is adorable and inventive, finding cheap designer lookalike stuff, both individual pieces, and — even more impressive — COMPLETE OUTFITS. Her site is well-organized and she is adorable.
If you — like me — love designer stuff but want to save a bit (fine, a LOT), check out her site!

Have you ever thought about writing an e-book or guest authoring on other blogs? I have a blog based upon on the same ideas you discuss and would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my audience would appreciate your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an e mail.

yes! I’m with you on the taste/budget thing. I usually wait a couple of months before it goes on sale or go to the outlet mall (which I just started doing a couple years ago, because I was a snob/yet in college/poor). I really like Uber Chic for Cheap.
She has a post on Talbots, and I always thought they were on the WASP-y side. But their Bardot dress that Julianne Moore is wearing- I must dress up like this and have husband do a photoshoot. Stat. I think I’ve seen the perfect green cardigan there too. Hmmm…could you help us readers find a cardigan (rosette or not) that comes in great colors? I’m always looking for a true green cardigan. Some stores seem to make it lighter or more blue, and well, it doesn’t stand out as much.

Forever21 is a great budget-conscious alternative to high-end brands – of course, it’s best to take into consideration that certain items don’t last long but I highly recommend their earrings, their bags, and some of their shoes.
I’m all for shopping at a good price – and being a Mommy now (still a Fashion Mommy), it’s even more important to consider being budget conscious.
Thanks for the post! Really good read! uberchicforcheap.blogspot.com is fantastic!
