I love potatoes and chocolate – so chocolate covered potatoes are my dream! … But I am getting off track. The only fries my kids will eat are at McDonald’s. And my little guy (who refuses to eat any form of potatoes) does not believe that there are potatoes inside the fries.
In Edmonton last fall, we got to work in a McDonald’s restaurant and every station we worked at was interesting, but the French fry station was where we got to see the McDonald’s machine at its finest.
Each basket of fries is filled by an automated system; you just place the basket there and it does the rest. Then you have to follow the protocol to place the right basket in the oil in the right order. This ensures that the oil is always hot and, of course, that we get a perfect fry every time. You put the basket in the oil, it beeps after several seconds… which means it’s time to shake; then it beeps minutes later, you remove from the oil, hang for about 10 seconds, shake again, pouring the fries into the bin, and add salt. Mmmmmmmmm!

Since you confessed your love of chocolate covered potatoes, I will confess my love of McDonalds fries with McDonalds ice cream! OhMySeriously it is heavenly, hot Mcfries and cold vanilla McIce cream, yummmm.
Last year I won tickets to the Cadbury Chocolate Fashion Show and OMG was it fantastic. Chocolate Chocolate everywhere. I had the opportunity to sample many things with Chocolate that I never would have even thought of, however the one that was really yummy was the Sweet Potato Fries drizzles with Cadbury Milk chocolate instead of ketchup. This was very very yummy, you should try it, maybe your son would eat these fries and being orange would probably make him laugh as well.
Let me know if you try them. I guarantee if you like sweet potatoes you will love this version. I am making as an appitizer for our get together next week.
