My First English Meal

April 17, 2008 by Jen

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it here before, but I am spending a week on holiday with my expat sister and her fiancé in England. More specifically in Epsom, Surrey, which is just outside the amazing metropolis of London.

I wanted to share my trip with you, but how best to do it? I was inspired during dinner to take a picture of my meal, and my sister’s fiancé suggested I take a picture of every great English meal I eat while I’m here, since they plan to take me out for Fish & Chips, a "Full English" breakfast at the Pub, and to serve me homemade Toad in the Hole, to name a few.

If you’ve ever watched Brit TV (I subscribe to BBC Canada for this express purpose), you might know something about the ubiquity of the English "curry takeaway". Well, that’s what we had for dinner tonight:

What you see here is easily the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten.

And here are a few gratuitous shots of Stonehenge from today:

Here’s me getting my first closeup glimpse of the amazing henge:

Tune in again tomorrow for Day 2’s meals and sights, and go check out my other blog, This Is Kat, for more travel-related posts.
