I always hear about celebrity sightings and have had a few of my own but I’ve never really hobknobbed with anyone famous…until recently. I was waiting to be interviewed at a local morning show sitting in the Green Room (anyone know why it is called The Green Room?). That’s when I spotted him. He’s all over the TV. He travels around the world jetsetting and living the high life. At first I was really nervous to approach him but I got up my nerve and asked for a picture. The quality isn’t great because it was on a cell phone but check it out!
Yup…that’s me with the Travelocity Roaming Gnome! Couldn’t you just die?! It was so funny. Brian Simpson, General Manager of Travelocity.ca was being interviewed right after me and he had brought the gnome with him. I couldn’t resist. I know, you’re totally jealous.
Can you beat my gnome sighting? Have you ever had a celeb sighting? Ever hobknobbed like our very own Ali from Juice Entertainment News does? Do tell in the comments below.

I just can’t stop laughing about the gnome! I think it is still the best celebrity sighting of all the comments- love it!

I just came back from a quick shopping trip on Bloor St….where I almost bumped into a very tall and surprisingly pleasant looking Liev Schrieber!! I’ve since found out he’s filming in Toronto with Jude Law and Forrest Whittaker. Keep your eyes peeled!

I was on a plane in ’98 and Jamie Foxx and Regina King were sitting beside me. Regina held my 2 month old baby for a little while so I could get a break!

I’ve met lots of writers. But they’re not CELEBRITY celebrities.
A friend of mine KNOWS Johnny Depp. GOOD GRIEF.

I have some of the lamest celebrity sightings in all of LA. Friends of mine have seen Nicole Kidman & Tom Cruise (obviously when the were together), Angelina Jolie, Hugh Jackman, Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson, etc. Who have I seen? Pauly Shore at the airport. Bill Maher seemingly arguing (I’m sure it was a riveting political discussion) with a cop on Sunset Blvd. Sally Field (now she is definitely note-worthy), who is a mini-person who I could have taken home in my purse & frankly looks amazing with no make-up & a baseball cap on!!
I still think you got me with the Roaming Gnome. He rocks!!

Visited with Mel Gibson at the old Bentley’s Fish and Chips which is now Wildfire Grill, chatted with Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark at the Madison one night, had Gordon Pinsent chat with me at a function (he thought he knew me and that we were friends!) and fell over Bryan Brown (remember him from cocktail – at Don’s Bakery in Bala – he helped me pick everything up. And of course introduced myself to Jim Cuddy at a ski club! Wait, does it count that I went to the same university as the Tragically Hip and watched them play at the bar almost every weekend for 4 years, but they weren’t famous yet?

i used to hang out in yorkville during tiff to spot celebs (pre-kids) and I saw a bunch – mark wahlberg (short but cute), jason lee, julianne moore (stunning), meg ryan (great hair). my friend saw hugh grant at starbucks at yorkville – i was pretty jealous

Oh yeah, and John Gallagher lives down the street from me.
John who?

I saw Cynthia Dale going into the local toy store the other day. Does that count as a celebrity sighting? How about Jacq Hennessy?
Ben Wicks?

I saw Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson strolling hand-in-hand down Yonge Street in downtown Toronto back when I was in university, and they were touring with the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company. I think that’s it. Oh, well other than that the local Calgary Global weatherman goes to the same gym as I used to. And he’s teeny-tiny short, too.
But nothing as spectacular as the gnome!

I love that gnome took the time to comment on your post!
Me and my kids were visiting someone at Children’s hospital a couple weeks ago, stepped out of the elevator, and there were the Canucks! Like, maybe about 10 of them. I’m personally not a hockey fan, but knowing how jealous my husband would be made me very happy 😉

Well, I have to say that I was as pleased to meet Jen, a celebrity in her own right, as she was to meet me.
Thanks for posting my pic, Jen!
And Happy Holidays everyone!!

I knew you were secretly hobknobbing. I saw Jude Law in Toronto once. I really wish I hadn’t though because although he is definitely hot he is really, really short and I was crushed 😛

I had to comment Jen. That is hilarious! I wish I was that gnome.
