Although my girls are so called identical twins, they look quite different, to me anyway. Everyone always says that Sophie looks just like me. It’s funny that one identical twin would look like me, and not so much the other one. What do you think? Mini me or no?
Here’s one of the three of us. Sophie on your left and Fiona on your right. Does Sophie look more like me? Do they look identical to you? Hmmm.
I’ve been fascinated by genetics since I first read about Mendel. I remember learning about the concept of dominant and recessive genes and being amazed by my blue eyes and blond hair (it darkened up as I aged). All three of us had the blue blond combo which only our mom has. Effing incredible. In University my breadth science course was called “The Genetic Revolution”, and I loved it. Sometimes I wish I had studied biology….alas, it was Political Science (which I also loved!).
Twins are fascinating in so many ways. In biology and social sciences. I’m very lucky that I have two fabulous little girls whom I love dearly and who bring me delight every day, but I also am fascinated by their development. Beyond what I think I would be with a singleton. The key is to keep the comparisons in my head. I’m looking forward to thinking and writing more about twinniness.
Here is a super cute twin photo to leave you with.
What about your kids? Twins or singletons. Do they favour you or your spouse? Or are they an even mix?

Hey, Er. As I know both you and your hubby it is so hard to say. ‘Cause, the truth is and as people always say about me and my hubby, you two don’t look different enough! However, I do see you in both girls. Especially when up against that pic of you as a little girl yourself.
I too find this fascinating and love the little glimpses you give us into the complex and amazing world of twins!
