soap and hand cream.
It’s cold and flu season…and if there’s anything I know, it’s the importance of making sure you wash your hands.
A LOT.
and just so you know, you don’t need to use anything fancy…expensive antibacterial soaps are not any more effective at getting you as germ free as possible. Soap and water lathered up really well and rubbed vigorously for at least 20 seconds is all it takes. I wash them before I touch food, and after I touch food, I wash them before I touch someone sick, and after I touch someone sick. I wash them before I eat, and after I eat. I wash them before I treat wounds, and after I treat wounds.
So, I am left feeling un-germy…BUT I haven’t the driest hands on earth.
Because of all of this, I spend a lot of my day moisturizing.
and my moisturizer of choice?
Trust me on this one, folks. It’s a good one. It’s simple, inexpensive, easy to find, and the ONLY thing I will use on my dry, chapped hands.

In the winter my hands get so dry that they bleed and develop painful fissures.
When I was at a friend’s house for dinner I noticed that she kept a bottle of moisturizer by the kitchen sink. She applied the moisturizer when she was done cleaning up in the kitchen. I’m in such a hurry that I always forget to apply moisturizer. Now I can’t forget.
