While I heard last week that the folks from Mad Men have finally started filming the next season (and this thrills me almost as much because we’ll finally find out what all our favourite cocktail-swigging, cigarette-smoking ad execs are up to, as it does because it means Jon Hamm will have to shave that beard!) it will still be months before we’re reunited with those smooth ’60s stylings.
Or not?
Banana Republic this week launched their Mad Men collection. Working collaboratively with Mad Men Emmy-winning costume designer Janie Bryant, the collection offers a modern take on the the style of the 1960s.
Some of my favourites from among the 65 pieces of apparel and accessories include:
This begonia print dress for $185. I’d throw on some kitten heels, pearls and red lipstick and I’d sit around the house furrowing my brow and channeling my inner Betty,
This basic navy tie neck top that I’d pair with a circle skirt and pumps, and wear to the office channeling my inner Peggy,
and this leopard print trench for $240 that I might wear with nothing else, channeling my inner Joan.
The collection is available in-store and online now.
