The following story is the first in a series of contributions from our urbanmoms.ca members. For the next few months The Lounge section is reserved for stories by members only. We can learn so much from each other and, as the following story illustrates, from our kids. If you have something you would like to contribute, please send it in an email and we will contact you about posting it. Enjoy!
An Important Lesson to Learn:
“Look at the chickens kissing. Isn’t that funny?” I said to Sebastian. We were watching the finale of the hilarious kids movie, "Chicken Run". How do you kiss on the lips (do chickens even have lips?) with big beaks made out of CGI. Well that was my thought anyways. It looked so obscure that it was hilarious.
To this comment, I was served with the following reply from my son,“There is nothing funny about kissing. Kissing is beautiful”. Sebastian had stopped me in my tracks. He was right and he was 4. I felt plain silly for judging the chickens’ behaviour when what they were doing was perfectly normal (even if a little obscure).
“You are right, Sebastian. There is nothing at all wrong about kissing”.
