Okay folks, it’s late October already, and when those Hallowe’en decorations come down you just know that the stores are going to stuffed to the rafters with Christmas stuff (some of them have already jumped on the Santa bandwagon anyway). So with Christmas coming, it’s always a good idea to get a jump on this busy season by getting some shopping done. But what to buy? What toys will be hot this season? What TV ads will implant themselves permanently in your children’s psyches?
Well, never fear. The Go2Girlz are here with one sure-fire toy that never fails to please children of any age or gender: Lego. Thirty lucky Go2Girlz (and their children) were treated to free samples of Lego and Lego DUPLO interlocking blocks.
The consensus was unanimous: everyone loves Lego DUPLO, from Mom and Dad (especially Dad!) to older siblings to toddlers, and even a few Grandmas, too. Our Go2Girlz testers loved the colourful bricks, the ease of use and the endless opportunities for imaginative play as well as fine motor skills practice. In fact, Francine, mom of 3 says, “this product is the best toy out on the market,” and Ashley, mom of 3 says, “loved it! Knew the kids would have hours of fun with it.”
The Go2Kidz loved the toys, and more than one Mom reported tales of children insisting on taking the helicopter, truck or a fireman to bed with them! I just went to the Lego store in Kitchener last weekend and it was amazing. It was hard to get my 5 year old out but my husband was even worse. LOL Awesome. This is a generational toy that will last thoughout the ages.
I work in a childcare setting and we have some very old lego pieces in the room because unfortunately our buget does not allow us to replacement them at the moment. But, the children love playing with the legos. My co-workers and i just sit back and watch the children’s imagination run wild. Anywhere from spaceships to cars to some new animal species, it is very interesting to see what some of them can make up when they make believe. Very amusing. A great toy that promotes imagination, fine motor skills and vocabulary skills.

My older kids (some in their 20’s) still enjoy lego – Ben completed the Star Wars X-wing set last year (with help from everyone – LOL) it was great! Even though he’s older he so enjoyed his lego and the X-wing is proudly displayed in his room.

My kids are still playing with it everyday – and loving it! We even bought a set for a friend’s birthday last weekend
My 2 year-old daughter is still entertained daily with the playset, and is learning new ways of putting things together which I love to watch. It’s great to see her inventing new combinations and having fun while learning… I definitely recommend this for either boys or girls, she is delighted and so am I!
A great set. Our whole family played with it together by ignoring the instruction booklet and using our own imaginations for hours. We will definitely consider adding more sets to the “village” and purchasing this for birthday gifts.
My 5 year old daughter-Ary loved it-she spent hours playing-her imagination was put to good use-as she came up with some many different ways to form her own creation-her 16 year old brother actually enjoyed playing and spending quality time with her-as they both had fun with it.

What an excellent lego set! If you’re looking for a toy that provides hours of fun for your child, this may be just the one! Lots of different fun colorful pieces that are so easy to put together, there are so many different things that your kids can build. My kids ranging in age from 11 months to 8 years old all enjoyed playing with this toy.

My son continues to LOVE this building set. In fact the other sets (police station etc.) have quickly risen to the top of his Christmas wish list. I love the quality of the set, and the details have inspired many hours of creativity. I would highly recommend Lego/Duplo for anyone. You can’t go wrong.
My daughters have always loved Lego too – such an awesome toy! Also, Lego is a very socially responsible company: no sweatshop labour and they recycle all but about 1% of their plastic used in the manufacturing process! Lego has been (and will continue to be) a staple in our children’s gift lists.
