Leaving On a Jet Plane

February 5, 2011 by Amanda

I’ve had a bit of a rough week: the kids and husband have all been sick, hacking up lungs and smearing snot all over the couches. I am feeling rushed and frantic with all the work I need to accomplish each week to keep up the pace with my real estate course. I am tired of eating healthily and have been fighting the urge to bury my face in a pan of six-cheese lasagna. The kids seem to be squabbling more. The two year-old has been having tantrums at midnight. The house gets more dirtied and cluttered every day. I am just wiped out.

So I booked an impromptu trip to Regina for next week (I know, who willingly flies to the prairies in February?!) to visit my parents and a few good friends who live there and I think I need the break, the time to just clear the fog and breathe. I’ll be taking Brinley with me since she’s free to fly, and the two older monsters kids will be kickin’ it with Pops.
Anyone else have a sanity-saving trip on the horizon?

Good for you! My husband has been working all the time – incl late nights and weekends. I’m going nuts, and was thinking of booking a spa visit next week and leaving kids with him for the day. you’ve definitely inspired me to do it! enjoy your trip!
