Last Minute March Break Deals

March 5, 2012 by Heather GD

t’s time: Family Day is gone, the Christmas holidays are a thing of the past and looming front and centre? A week of entertaining the kids.  Sure you could ship them off to camp or pawn them off on the in-laws but where’s the parental-bonding-plus-I-need-a-break-too in that? These March Break options leave room for all of you to make the most of the forced holiday.

Get thee to a beach:
Where: Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic

casa-dr.pngStay at least four nights and you can snag the US$295 ($295 Cdn) all inclusive rate, per person per night.  Not the cheapest option for sure but when you consider it includes all meals and drinks, unlimited horseback riding, tennis, beach water sports and one round of trap and skeet shooting it’s not a bad way to splurge out. You have to travel between now and April 24th, 2012 and book before April 24th, 2012. Rate is based upon double occupancy. Quote booking code: W-295.

Swim with the fishies

Sign up for one of their “Suite Deals” and you save up to 50 per cent off a stay in one of their Regal Suites plus get up US$400 airfare credit on a 6-night stay! Children (11 and under) stay and play for free. Rate includes unlimited access to Aquaventure (the 141-acre water ride bonanza that it’s known for) and the 50,000 marine animal marine habitat on site. You have to book by April 1 and travel between now and June 13. Visit www.atlantis.com  for the fine print.

Hit the slopes

Screen shot 2012-03-05 at 7.57.11 PM.pngTake advanatage of Family Month at Whistler Blackcomb with family friendly activities on and off the mountain. Give little ones a break from the slopes at either The Magic Castle (Blackcomb) of Tree Fort (Whistler)  or sign them up for a Kids Adventure Camp (3-5 day options). Not interested in skiing? Then attack the hills at the Coca-Cola Tube Park with eight lanes of  tubing options. For deals on details or to start planning your visit go to whistlerblackcomb.com

Really can’t get out of town?
The Mississauga Living Arts Centre has two play options on hand that will be sure to please. “Cats” runs March 13 and 14 and younger ones will enjoy Richard Scarry’s “Busytown” on March 15. For other Mississauga March Break options you can check out www.mississaugakids.com

The package  features great rates for 37 downtown Toronto and surrounding area hotels, starts as low as $85 per night (based on double occupancy) and also includes Tickets to one or more of Casa Loma, Hockey Hall of Fame, Toronto Zoo, and the Ontario Science Centre and 15% off at select The Bay locations.
