Brrrrrr…the expected high for today is 0 degrees with the windchill. That means that this morning as we ran around the house (after a long weekend the morning rush is particularly frantic), kids started asking for winter jackets, hats and mittens. I tracked down the jackets and various hats, but found myself with a basket full of mismatched mitts and gloves. Sigh. I swear, some kids would lose their heads if they weren’t attached to their shoulders!
Every year it’s the same; my kids spend the first few cold days with frozen fingers and I spend those same days running around on my lunch hour trying to track down mittens that the kids love. Then I bring them home and say a silent prayer that they’ll stay a pair for longer than a Kardashian couple.
Last year I discovered a great solution. Clippos is a Canadian company that makes all sorts of clips to keep your kids attached to the things that are important to them (soothers!…toys!…their pants!!). Clippos products are available in stores, but you can also order them online.
Clippos mitten clips have been recently redesigned and they’ve really thought of everything. First, they’re stylish and funky looking, so even your older kids won’t mind using them. The clips have “bite”, so they’ll keep those mitts on, and they’ve got a centre clip to keep mittens together when they’re not in use.
Invest in a pair of these for $18 and I guarantee you’ll save much more than that by not having to replace lost mittens. Now if only someone could find a way to clip my kids’ heads to their shoulders, we’d be in good shape!

We have certainly lost our fair share of mitten. These clips sound like a great solution!

i love those things! And whenever I need them, they always seem sold out from my regular haunts. Hmmmm… I should get a jump on that for this winter. I wonder if they make them in fur? 😉
