I’m Wrong, Baby

December 7, 2011 by Amanda

A lot of my friends are pregnant right now, and for every one who is, I have a guess, nay, a feeling about the sex of their baby.

I have had a feeling like this for almost all of my friends who have ever been pregnant, but you know what’s funny? That feeling, my intuition, has been wrong 100% of the time. 100%! I have never once been right! Not even about my own pregnancies!

What about you? Are you good a guessing the sex of unborn babies? What do you rely on to make your predictions?

I had an amazing streak going – I was I think 12 for 14 of guessing right. As soon as I got pregnant…my streak ended!!!!!!! I wanted a boy so badly and visualized a boy – but my god I was still so surprised when i found out post amnio!

I’m with you Amanda. 100% every single time. wrong.
I always just go by what I imagine my friends with – little boys or girls. And my instincts are always always the opposite of what they have.
As far as my own – I never found out the gender before giving birth. I was always wrong.
With Cam I wanted a girl, so I thought girl. Was thrilled with a boy – totally unexpected.
With Cuyler I wanted a girl for me, but a boy for Cam since they were so close in age. The pregnancy was different so I thought girl. Wrong again.
With Eva I just assumed it was a third boy. I knew boys. Identified as a “mom-of-boys”. Another totally different pregnancy. Had my boys name picked out. Girl!

no clue. the funny part is the people who insist you’re having a boy (or girl) depending how you look! i had someone actually argue with me that i was completely wrong when i suggested that it could be a girl (and she was!) because i was carrying all out front. only boys do that, apparently. i guess i’ll have to rename my daughters then 😉

I love the guessing and all the old wives’ tales and theories. I remember being pregnant with #2 and a man on the street was certain that I was carrying a girl – told me he was always right. I had a boy. ..he also thought I was carrying twins…awesome feeling to know I was THAT big.

It’s a fifty-fifty chance… I can’t remember if I’m good or bad at it – plus, I think a lot of people I know, knew the sex in advance. *shrugs* It’s fun trying to guess!

Dead wrong, every time. That’s why with my third I just decided to find out ahead of time (yes, I had guessed wrong but had more notice).
