The other day, I was at a McDonald’s restaurant with my Mom and the family. Just as I am beginning to order, my Mom was just about to tell them that I am a McDonald’s Mom Quality Correspondent. I politely tried to *SHUSH* my Mom and waved the air vigorously in front of me. It was too late. At the tender age of 38, I was officially embarrassed by my Mother!
You’re a McMom! So does that mean you eat a lot of McDonald’s?
This is where I have to go into lengthy detail and explain to them what being a McMom all is about. My Mom couldn’t believe that McDonald’s employees did not know who I was.
*SIGH*
NOBODY knows who we are. Even the owner/operators were just recently introduced to us at their annual convention. I got to lovingly release the machine-gun laugh on a group of unsuspecting McDonald’s big-wigs, suppliers and owners/operators. McDonald’s does not advertise it and definitely does not have a huge campaign to promote it.
Why?-You may ask.
Well, YES, this is about informing all you Moms out there but since we are Moms we are suspect to all things that are heavily marketed, they knew that you were not silly enough to believe it, just because McDonald’s says it is so.
We are five genuine, real, honest, hard-working Moms. We could become serious detectives with all the investigating and questioning that consumes us when we visit any destination that we go to. Also, we ask DIFFICULT questions or questions that you may be embarrassed to ask, or thought was silly, but always wanted to know. Also, we CHOOSE what we WANT to say or ask.
We understand that we represent EVERY MOM! The Moms that are young, the Moms that are single, the Moms that are married, the Moms that have crazy teenagers, the Moms that have young children, the Moms that run, the Moms that workout religiously, the Moms that try to workout religiously, the Moms that are tall, the Moms that are short, the Moms that come in all shapes and sizes, the Moms that don’t have time in-between the kids school and their activities to make dinner in 30 minutes flat, the Hockey Mom, the Soccer Mom, the Mom that always feels guilty for not having enough time in the day for it all, the Mom that chooses to leave the piles of laundry because it is sunny outside and the kids want to go play at the park, the Mom that sacrifices her own time to be MORE available for family time, the Stay-at-Home Mom, the Working-Part-Time Mom, the Working-Full-Time Mom, basically EVERY mom is us, a BUSY MOM!
Most importantly we are the Mom that questions EVERYTHING and ANYTHING, when it comes to their kids, especially when it comes to what they are eating.
WE ARE the MOMS that CARE.
So when you wonder where the GREAT AD campaign is for us McDonald’s Mom’ Quality Correspondents, just remember we are YOU, the Moms that DO NOT get paid for what they do, but what they do is try to find out all the FACTS & REAL INFORMATION. Just like you, we like to be informed and knowledgeable about what our kids and our families are eating at McDonald’s, and luckily we have been invited by McDonald’s to see behind-the-scenes and experience every step along the way, from where our potatoes become McDonald’s fries, to where our chickens become our kids’ beloved McNuggets. We get to go where even the majority of the population have not had the chance to experience.
Yes, sometimes it would be nice to NOT have to explain what I do as a McDonalds Moms’ Quality Correspondent. I would also like to add that being a McMom does NOT mean I eat McDonalds everyday or that perhaps I may/or may not be able to eat my weight in Big Macs. I do not get lifetime of free McDonald’s food and NO we do not get paid. YES, we can say whatever we want!
Seriously, would you just believe it, if it was advertised everywhere you look.
I think you are all TOO SMART for that.
