So You Wanna…Mad Men Yourself!

January 4, 2010 by Unknown

I recently purchased some vintage 1950s glasses (well, I got them as a gift, but I did the research and asked for them, as I always do, obviously, I’m the research girl after all!)

DSC_0434.JPG

They are actual frames from the 1950s..never been worn. I won’t lie. I love Mad Men. I love every single itty bitty detail on this show, right down to the costumes…the dresses, the suits, the shoes, the glasses. So, it was while watching season 1 of the show that I made the decision to find some retro glasses.

And clearly I am not the only one. I got an email after I posted a picture of the glasses from a reader who asks, “ALI! Please help me Mad Men myself too! Where can I buy 50s inspired pieces?!?“

Well, here’s where I let you into the vault…from the Ali’s quest to look like Mad(wo)Man…

Stores like ModCloth are a GREAT place to start. They sell tons of 50s and 60s inspired dresses like this one, which I could totally see on Peggy Olsen (and on myself!), and at only $49.99, it doesn’t break your budget either! Be sure to check out their real vintage section too. things sell out quickly, though!

Stores like Vintageous sell lots of Mad Men era clothing and accessories. This day dress seems very Betty Draper-esque, no?

Anthropologie is one of my favorite places to buy dresses, and they always carry great shirtdresses like this one…

I typed a very specific response to this entry but for some reason the blog ate the whole thing. You might want to think about a new host that is more accountable.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I discover that topic to be really something which I believe I might never ever understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I will be looking forward for up coming post, I can try to get the hang of it!

I’ve been browsing the internet and also have discovered two applications that seem to be the genuine offer when it comes to binaural is better than. In any other case how could they cost $500+ for them? The two programs are holosync and hemisync. I understand hemisync has about two decades of work place into them but i don’t know much about holosync. Are both of these well worth the time. I don’t want to hear anything about the outrageous cost I just need to know if I’ll get any results. Thanks.

The words conscious and science possess a common root meaning to know. A aware person is aware of his/her environment and an individual in a very comma (unconscious) isn’t conscious. A person in a very comma may nonetheless be self conscious but trapped without means to talk. If you are able to read and understand this you have proof that you’re conscious and self conscious. Thoughts exist inside the human brain as a continuous movement ef electron activity (picked up by an EEG as you recommend)!!! Thoughts must be continuously recreated every immediate until lost from consciousness (forgotten)!!! Ideas should drag collectively many items saved inside the mind this kind of as a string of phrases in a very offered language and the correct which means (puns) where a word has several meanings. Likely identical twins retailer particular words and meanings in randomly different detailed locations inside their brains and a central controller “I” should find them as needed, “I would really like some ice cream.” Perhaps that is a creepy miracle that only billions of neurons operating together can drag off. There has been a long running philosophical query as to whether or not humans have totally free will or whether or not decisions are simply a chemical reaction within neurons. I feel that people and most other creatures on earth are choice making machines for survival (battle or flight, pleasure or pain, and so on.) and regardless of how complex existence becomes a decision can and often should be created using only the (chemical) assets contained within continuously firing neurons someday supervised by a vivid imagination.

As far as trends of the streets are concerned, the Ed Hardy jeans for men are always leading the pack. All the celebrities and famous pop singers are spotted wearing Ed Hardy jeans in their albums and movies.
