“I Help”

December 16, 2010 by sarahnewk

Other then the new bedtime stalling, we have another new phenomenon at our house.  “I HELP”.  My son says this for everything- everything!!! It doesn’t matter what I’m doing, he wants to help me.  I’m not upset, not in the least, because I’m pretty sure this won’t last for long.  The issue is more that he doesn’t do much actual helping.  I try to sweep and he “helps” by taking the broom and playing hockey.  I make the beds and he “helps” by making a fort our of the sheets, thereby undoing all of my bed making.  I make pancakes and he “helps”…

by stirring….

tn3.jpegand eating more pancakes then I could ever imagine!

I love this age!

In our house it was “I do it”, very cute, but also very frustrating, at times, also.
I love the shot of him eating the blueberries with the gleeful look on his face.
    Sooo, cute.

Wait until you have the second & they have “I help” wars! My sister’s three little ones were over “helping” me with breakfast, each striving to outdo eachother as helpers. The problem was, each time there was a new task, the previous was abandoned so each could prove how helpful they were on the next task. We had a couple of “oOopses!”- to be expected with a bowl of eggs, one wisk & six eager little helping hands!
Though, it’s as you say- enjoy it while it lasts!
