Paying Thanks Forward.

September 27, 2011 by Jen

Our Family & Friends blog series is hosted by Generation Seven
wines. At Generation Seven we celebrate family, friends and the
connections we create while sharing delicious food and wine. This blog
series will tell these stories while celebrating the Bosc family’s
commitment to sustainability and giving back
.

I find Thanksgiving to be a wonderful and comforting time of year. I always look forward to gathering with family while snuggled up in my warm woolen sweaters as the colours change and the weather gets colder. We come together with the sole purpose of enjoying the comfort and predictability of our traditions and reflecting on our lives with gratitude.

Food, wine and those we love!
Thanksgiving is a time where we pause to recognize the good in our lives in the company of those we love while indulging in a hearty, harvest feast accompanied by wine and dessert. In our family we have a tradition of going around the table during Thanksgiving dinner and each person will share one thing in their lives that they are especially thankful for. It is a tradition I look forward to every year and one that reminds me of all of the good things. It also gives me insight into what others value and appreciate.

An especially mild Thanksgiving day in the beautiful Beaver Valley, Ontario.
At our table this Thanksgiving will be a new tradition. We will be serving items purchased locally and certain brands with a particular philosophy as a gesture of thanks. Our new tradition is to be conscious of those that support and encourage sustainability or who give back through supporting their communities to make sure that our good fortune gets shared with others.
This year I am especially grateful for the UrbanMoms community. To all of our members and readers, our fabulous writers, the UrbanMoms staff and our clients and partners, thank you for giving me even more to be thankful for! What are you thankful for?

Generation Seven White is an easy going wine. It’s unoaked, fresh and fruity.

Generation Seven Red is smooth and easy drinking. It’s full of blackberry and raspberry flavours with just a hint of spice.
