achieve, or living the life you deserve. And the truly insidious thing
about fear is – it’s completely self perpetuated. We create the dread
that clogs up our lives”.

Sunday
morning I was serving my son breakfast. Out of the blue he told me
something about our nanny that changed my life instantly. I won’t go
into the details but let’s just say that it changed everything for me
.. in an instant. I am now unemployed – by my own choice. The nanny is
gone and I am back to raising my children full time.
Rewind
one month – I had just returned to work after being on maternity leave
for a year. I came back to a part time position for “work life
balance”. Let me tell you, it was not so balanced. I was working part
time hours but putting in full time work. I am a people pleaser so I
did my best to “please” everyone but after three weeks of this I felt
burned out.
As the writer of Mom Inc. I can tell you I am
trying to establish a business of my own but I was scared to take the
deep plunge until I was forced to so to speak. It took an situation
with my daycare to make me realize that I could not do it all. Nope. I
had to leave work – for now. For the sake of my children and for the
sake of my sanity.
I am scared. I am tired. I am overwhelmed.
This week has been rough and busy which in a way has been a blessing.
Why? Well I don’t really have time to dwell on the usual “Did I do the right thing?”.
Instead I am washing sheets after a bad battle with my son’s stomach
flu. My husband is away on a business trip and it is just me alone to
figure out how I will help to pay the bills over the next year. It is
me alone, right now trying to find ways to bolster my mood and feel
good about my decision. Did I mention I am scared? I am truly living
Mom Inc now. Where will my next pay cheque come from? I don’t know yet.
If you are feeling like me and need support then you need to
come to the event I am planning. Maybe together we will find the
solutions to relieve our fears and fuel our aspirations.

Wow Leigh sounds like you had some tough choices to make very quickly. I can only imagine how panicked you are feeling right now. Facing life head on can be very challenging. I hope that your son is well, and that you use this time as an opportunity to grow your business and to turn something negative into positive. I am rooting for you!
